  1. My only concern with a BRS is that there appears to be more danger from the canopy dragging the aircraft in high winds, than what one could expect from a normal dead-stick landing. Some sort of cut-away or manual release method needs to be added, preferably idiot-proof to avoid accidental use!
  2. Howzit Richtee - from a neighbor in Pemba, Mozambique. My aerie is in SA, and I want to bring her up here permanently......... Lotsa hoops to jump through! Any time you feel like doing a LoooonG x-country, give us a shout!!
  3. Hi Microman - yes, there are millions of variations: My particular one has less than 100 hours, has a VW 2.4 Lt (85 hp) engine, with a dual ignition mod. She has a total of 100 lt fuel capacity (which means no pax or bags) and a sliding canopy. She has flaps....
  4. Hi everyone - just introducing myself. I am a South African, currently working in Mozambique (you know, Africa)..... I held a PPL and worked in the Flight Operations field in the airlines for twenty years. I stopped flying 18 years ago, due to lack of money, and left the aviation field. I am now a mariner, doing coastal passages on the East Coast of Africa - I recently purchased a home-built Jodel D18 Sovereign from a friend, and will be flying for fun from now on! Thanks for the opportunity to chat to fellow Recreational Aviators.....
