Hello from the Sunshine Coast

Just saying hello.

I have just converted my UK PPL(A) to a RA-AUS Pilot Certificate. All signed off yesterday!

Live at Birtinya and carried out training at Caloundra with Go Fly Aviation, which has been great.

Would be good to catch up with other pilots from the area. Maybe looking for a share plane in the future.

Cheers

James

Thanks for all the comments.

Look forward to seeing you up there some time!

Scott, I did fly with Damien about a year ago, but did the conversion with Ritchie and signed off by Neil. I'd recommend them all. I've also really enjoyed flying their new Sling aircraft, makes a nice change from the old cessnas and pipers I've flown.

Djpacro, I enjoy the odd aerobatic flight, completed my tailwheel conversion on a decathalon and flown in a Bulldog and an extra 300, would like to do more in the future. What do you fly when your here?

Cheers James

Was Bill G in the right hand seat for the Bulldog's first flight?

Not sure about that.

I was just returning from a run along the south coast and around The Isle of Wight with a business friend (when I should really have been working at a conference) and he pointed it out to me while returning to park the aircraft. We then watched in awe as it went up like a homesick angel compared to what we were flying in.

Hi James - congrats on your RA licence.

I've recently moved here from the UK. I have a UK PPL (earned at Sandown, Isle of Wight), albeit out of currency. I'm told I only need 5 hours to convert to an RA permit. Is that all you needed? How current were you?

happy landings

Nah - bit far for me from midwest NSW! I think the regs say you only need 5 hours to validate a UK PPL; I was just asking James if that had been his experience.

But I've got Caboolture on my list to fly to when I'm airborn again, as long as they don't mind very small homebuilts.

Still building the shed to build the plane in 025_blush.gif.9304aaf8465a2b6ab5171f41c5565775.gif so it's early days yet. But I plan to build a MiniMax.

"Gordon Bennett" as some would say, that's just what I was thinking.

Many years ago I could have possibly been burned at the the stake for that, thinking i'm a witch.

Hi Soleair.

Is Armidale any closer to you?

GoFly Aviation has just opened a new flying school there as well.

As far as YCAB is concerned, everyone is welcome.

Sean.

What, you're thinking of building a shed, Planedriver?

My local club can sort me with hoursbuilding, thanks Sean. I'm going to spread it out over Summer to keep me inspired. Also, if I get my licence back too soon, I'll want to go flying instead of building!
