Aircraft Alert

I will post it on the forum as waiting for it to appear in the magazine will take a few months.

 

A report has been received of a failure which will affect all aircraft and will need to be rectified before next flight.

 

Whilst the details are still being investigated, it is envisaged that all aircraft owners and operators will be required to inspect their aircraft for compliance with the forthcoming alert bulletin.

 

The failure is interestingly in the cockpit area, which makes it common to all aircraft.

 

Regardless of the care taken by aircraft owners in maintaining their aircraft, the defect only occurs once the aircraft's seats are occupied.

 

We are presently stumped on what can be done about it, so any input from the field is gladly accepted. Please reply here and don't email me directly. Thanks

Well, the above problem will go away on April 2nd. (I hope):thumb_up:

 

 

I have removed the seat. I can now see even less ahead when taxying, but feel a lot safer.

I find this alert particularly worrying, as I don't have an aircraft yet, and therefore am unable to rectify it. What can I do to comply? Please contact me on April 31st, as I will be away until then.

If you dump the seats and use milk crates, will it solve the issue?

The Chinese are already ahead of you there Ben, only I think they use chook crates.

The aviation equivalent of PEBKAC for us IT folks then....must be a PEBSAC "Problem Exists Between Seat And Controls"

 

 

Pduthoit is correct in his assumption. It seems that the fault goes away when the occupants are given sufficient alcohol after the end of daylight and prior to 8 hours before beginning of daylight.

Perhaps we could modify this when we get in our planes:

 

Problem In Cockpit, Numpty In Charge.
