Guest Chainsaw Posted November 29, 2006 Share Posted November 29, 2006 Well success! I made it out to YSSY near the old control tower with a friend. It was sunny but quite hazy. The wind was from the south at around 38kts - very windy. There were a large number of people watching the event. The 'poor planning of the decade' award goes to the couple having a bonk when hundreds of people decended on the area in a matter of 5 mins. They only just managed to get dressed and drive out. Two mins later and they would have been parked in. I managed to get a very nice set of photos of it parked on a remote stand and the take-off. I also managed to get a photo of a rare Swiss Air A320 that was heading to Darwin. I'll put the photos up later, as I don't have my cable with me. The Mary Kostakitas on World News Australia reffered to the arrival of the Airbus A380 as "The new Boeing Airbus A380...." What was the Swiss Airbus A320 doing in Australia? What's it doing after Darwin? The A380 would have been a very impressive sight to see it land. I seen it on the News Yesterday. A friend of mine actually went up and took some very impressive photos the A380. I'll see if I can get my hands on them, and post them up too.
