28fps was considered bone breaking rate.

That's for your own undercarriage, but don't forget the aircraft. BRS say the plane is slightly nose-down (don't know where people got this idea that it descends vertically) so the nose gear hits first followed very shortly afterwards by the main gear. Given that both of them are designed to absorb impacts they should take a lot of the force out of the crash. Yes the plane will probably be a write off but as their website quotes, 324 lives saved and 0 life-threatening injuries (admittedly a lot of back injuries could be hiding in there), still seems worth it to me. The main thing is not to use it unless you really need it.

Of course it descends vertically Marty:wink: The attitude of the plane will vary from model to model with different attachment points and different design but even if it's designed to be upside down it will still descend vertically (of course wind and even a slight effect of the plane itself will make it drift but otherwise gravity is the winner:teacher:.)
