John Young, the astronaut who walked on the moon and flew the first Space Shuttle has died at the age of 87.

He had the best career of any astronaut, R.I.P.

He flew in space 5 times, the most of any astronaut.

Actually six trips, (seven if you count the lunar liftoff) Gemini 3, Gemini 10, Apollo 10, Apollo 16, Shuttle 1 & Shuttle 9.

 

His bio “Forever Young” an outstanding read.
