Vietnam War Aircraft Losses

Some interesting figures on United States aircraft numbers lost during the Vietnam War. Originally sourced from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aircraft_losses_of_the_Vietnam_War), the figures have been simplified to include aircraft from all four branches of service combined, and operational as well as combat losses. Variants are listed as the one type, eg. F-4 includes RF-4's; C-47 includes AC-47's, C-117's etc..

Small numbers compared to WW2 losses, but still a lot of aircraft when the figures are condensed.

 

During the war, the United States had two pilot aces ( the other three aces were RIO's), and North Vietnam

 

claimed sixteen aces.
