I heard the pilot was a 95 year old former member of the French resistance, holidaying in Italy and was flying on his ohm with no one else in the aircraft...

... and he met with some serious level of wire resistance? Certainly, enough resistance to stop his current path.

 OFF TOPIC comments perhaps? There's 3 wires there displaced sideways and it's hooked on only one.. The plane would no doubt stop abruptly so I hope the occupant(s) are OK. Nev

Depends: looks like the aircraft was travelling away from the camera position, so maybe he fell into trees...and maybe also onto steeply falling ground...the ski-jump effect???

Thanks for the research IBOB. . .When I got that picture, the only detail was 'ITALY'. . . . I normally include info, but didn't have time,  computer blew up big time so I'm back on a replacement as of this morning,. . .trying to remember all my passwords ! ! ! !
