Guest ozzie
The Winton Cricket/Jackeroo came along about 1980. High wing with glass ribs and leading edge with ali tube spars. strut braced with square tube airframe. powered mainly with the 440 robin twin. A near direct copy built in SA was the Tyro. there should be some photos on this site. ozzie

farri
A guy called Jack Stewart, who was a member of our club, the FNQUA,owned a white jakeroo,I got to do a few taxi runs in it,he also owned a Wheeler scout,a grass hopper, and a side by side quicksilver all at the same time. Jack was an old timer and would test the strength of the wind by holding a hanky at head height and dropping it,if it didn`t go furthur than a couple of meters he considered it safe to go up in the jakeroo or the scout. Jack passed away some years ago and I don`t know what happened to the jakeroo. Cheers, Frank.
