Avalon 1984????

Hi, need a bit of help.

 

Can anyone remember what dates the Avalon airshow was on in 1984 please? (Got a log book entry perhaps?)

 

The exact dates would be handy but just the month would do.

 

I need this to track down some manufacturing history. The only clue I have is that the particular aircraft had to be designed, built and finished for that airshow.

I remember going to the Mangalore Air Show in 1984 and if I recall it was the Easter Weekend

Tks Turtle. It may have been Mangalore. It was certainly a major airshow in 84 and people's memories fade a bit - something I have had to face when digging up research info.

 

But it is surprising what you can put together if you persist.

Hi Tony,

 

Just what info are you looking for? From memory it was a pretty big event lots of new types were there. I think this was were i flew the single seat Thrusters in public the first time. I will check my log book when i return to Sydney tomorrow. I now also have obtained every issue of the MAFA Contact newsletters that may have some info. i think maybe also big airshow at Schofields Sydney and the LAA flyin just west of Corowa as well around that period.. I will expand this and open another thread in half an hour or so on Thruster History - I may as well get what is going.

 

Meantime I will leave this one open as answers give me a picture.
