  1. I've never tried to find out why. I don't think THAT would be that cool.. Nev
  2. My Nickname was "Joe Cool" according to some. Nev.
  3. Considering spanwise flow as able to be treated as a separate value is BULLSHIT credited to ONE german designer long ago and discredited frequently. Who else does it and HOW do you MAKE if FLOW spanwise? . Reduced sweep back will reduce the M Crit figure. the Fokker fellowship and French Mercure are good examples of low mach No Cruise capability and reduced range. Dutch roll may be close to non existent though. Nev
  4. A Service ceiling is when the climb rate MAX's at 500 FPM. 500 fpm is also known as "standard rate.". Nev
  5. Needs anti dive forks. Forward swept wings. WHY FFS ?
  6. In this sort of thing Complete success is going to be the exception There is no inevitability in it. Not all birds pass their flight test. ALSo If it was THAT easy EVERYBODY would be doing it. There is no perfect Plane, Pilot or marriage partner. The Majority of Marriages fail but that doesn't stop a lot attempting it. . Brendon ..........Elon Musk as an example of success? Who's more all over the Place than HE is. and Aviation in it's infancy?? If something goes around at a busy major airport it will take at least 15 minutes and about five frequencies to get back on the ground and that's in a plane that flys like a plane should fly not being pulled along by a rope. Nev
  7. That might Confuse a few of our Northern Hemisphere friends. Nev
  8. Your rate of climb is devastated also and you are closer to your service ceiling. Nev
  9. And IF the runway is already occupied by say a damaged aircraft with a blown tire, what happens then?. Nev
  10. One of the advantages of NOT flying for a living is you can CHOOSE when and where you fly. Who in their right mind would want to fly at 3 am in the morning and do a challenging Instrument approach at the end of it? Nev
  11. The RIGHT seat is the Left seat as you can make all your OWN mistakes there. Some won't GET that. It's a delicate balance. You have some luck and some skill.. The trick is to get enough skill Before you use up all your luck.. Learn from the mistakes of others. You don't live long enough to make them all yourself.. WHEN you think you know it ALL THEN you are getting really dangerous Nev
  12. Designed by engineers. RUINED by Accountants.. That's the way it goes. Nev
  13. Those who never made a mistake never made anything. BUT" everybody makes mistakes" doesn't cut it with flying. Thats why we CHECK everything. (Boring as it might appear). Nev
