  1. I know this has probably been done before. NEED TO VENT! Just spoke to CLARC this morning and asked them to confirm that they have received my change of details request. The girl in Flight Crew Licensing could barely speak english. Asked if my C of R for my plane will also reflect this change. Did not know what a Certificate of Registration was. Transferred to someone who supposedly looked after aircraft regos. She also did not know what a C of R was. Why is it everytime I deal with them, my blood pressure goes up!!!! Last time I changed my address, they only changed the residential but not the mailing address so they wanted to charge me for a reprint with my new details as it has been sent across the country. With all the fees and charges that we pay for SERVICE. What the #&@*!
  2. 5000 hrs on Drifters Thats the equivalent of flying around the world in a drifter and a little bit more. Thats a helluva lot of drifter time.
  3. I intend to, just working on location and logisitics and everything else needed to set up a flight training facility, including an aircraft (very important). At least one drifter to start with, I too have a passion for formation flying/low level flying (approved) so things like that will be incorporated into the school. cheers Anthony
  4. I'm working on it , Hopefully in the next 12-18 months. There will be one in the Sydney basin for training and/or hire.... Watch this space!
  5. Bruce, Is your school a dedicated school or operating as a satellite school? I did not notice any schools listed on the RAAus website down in the 'Gong'.
  6. At least for you and me countrykid ;) When did you first come across them? I'd buy one tomorrow if I could find the right one and find a place to keep her. Besides the Oakes about 60 mins from Sydney there are not a lot of private airstrips where I could keep one. Most of the aerodromes here want to charge extraordinary fees just to keep it there. I have a similar problem to you, I don't know of many if any Drifters in Sydney, but at least the Drifter capitl (se qld) is only a 60 min flight from here. I did my 2 stroke endo a few months ago on the Drifter and I'd have to say in my 20 years of flying, it is one of the most exciting machines I've ever flown.
  7. Pat, thanks for that and YES, I was correct. Next time I pass through ADL I must visit Aldinga, never been and heard good things about it. As for the red drifter, I wish it was mine. A friend of mine owns it in the US, Iike Country Kid, I am still looking for one.
  8. Hi Pat. As an Air Traffic Controller at ADL. Can you tell me why the ATIS there often quotes the wind as something like 280/10 knots with a max crosswind of 11 kts. Not having a go, just want to settle an argument with a colleague. Is your Drifter in SA now?
  9. Patrick, I agree about the aircam, but it did start its life as a 'Drifter' lol. The photos people are posting of their drifters is great. Keep them coming.
  10. Don't know why there wouldn't be any drifters in WA. As the aircraft would definitely suit the Wa climate. Have you tried the guys at Serpentine?
  11. Might have to 'drop' into Boonah next time I find myself in SE QLD.
  12. Is there a Drifter Flyer/Owner's club or something like that here in Oz? I know there is the Annual fly in at Clifton, if there is a club please post details. Will have the cheque in the mail tomorrow for membership
  13. Thanks guys for the info. Cessnock is probably a little further than I wanted to travel to get my fix. Maybe I need to start my own syndicate and base the aircraft closer to Sydney.
  14. Thanks for that Info guys, Is the Xair in the same hangar in Cessnock?
  15. Hi Folks Am looking for details of any Drifters available in the Sydney area via a Syndicate or similar. Can anyone help? Cheers
