  1. Hi Trackley Have a look at Tony Spicers web site for his Panther in the Fibreglass section. He has a few step by step photos how he made an inspection hatch in the cowl. https://get.google.com/albumarchive/116494848541088965116
  2. Don't be hard on your self, I would never have put my first effort at landing a Jab on Youtube, but it is great to see. You are just overloaded and still are not coordinated. Take your time, the Jabiru will give you flying skills no GA plane will provide and Bruce seems like a cool instructor with a lot of patience. Good luck with your training, enjoy the experience and don't worry about wasting money, because you did not...
  3. Bruce Have a look at this website http://www.saxonpc.com/120mm-airflow-honeycomb-without-hous120.html&usg=AFQjCNEAAAAAVw6jhsiiIX_gbyAlECry46ZrmfulDQUi Tony Spicer is building a Panther and has a good web site documenting the build . He is using a jab 3300, this is a flow straightener he has made a connection in front of the carb, may help or may not, I'm not sure.
  4. There are two builders that have tail kits built and have patiently been waiting until a full kit is ready to ship, this should be before the end of this year. Quality of the kits are great and getting better as they move through the production process. There are plenty of builder websites to get a good opinion of the build.
  5. First off, I own and fly a Jabiru aircraft / engine and fully understand the limitations of the engine and the risks of any other aircraft engine - none are perfect. From what I recall during RA-Aus training don't you already sign a waiver as a dangerous activity no matter what aircraft you train in.... I believe the best option for RA-Aus moving forward is to pick a date, lets say 3 months from the initial notification of limitations from CASA and perform a full audit of the RA-Aus membership (10,000 members?)for the following data: Hours flown for period and engine type, then compare reported incident reports and formulate their own data to put an argument forward on failure rates. Repeat for the next three months, that will provide six months of data. From my observations this topic is driven by politics and not facts, but it has improved safety - how many incidents have there been in the last 8 weeks - not many regarding jabiru engines? And after heavy handed CASA regulation future incidents will be less likely reported......
