  1. What are the odds if you're both an RAAAUS member and 5+kgs overweight?
  2. I suspect that they would have explored your "safety" reasons a little more, and, if convinced, would have cleared you in. However, they would then have been obliged to submit an ESIR, which would go automatically to CASA, ATSB, and I think RAA.
  3. Minor correction, Poteroo; ATC is no longer taxpayer-funded. It is user-pays, and that means mainly payments by the airlines. Airservices is, in fact required to return a dividend to its sole shareholder, the Government. CASA, on the other hand...
  4. APPROACH didn't help! Airsick, having been in the business, as an apprroach controller I wouldn't be giving delays that would compromise last light - in fact I would have been the initiator on bringing you back. Granted they pushed you up the ladder when you asked, but it looks like someone wasn't thinking.
  5. Hello everyone. I've held off on posting here for some time. I've had a background in operational aviation for 40 years (!) and since my retirement I've decided to finish my flying lessons which I began 45 years ago and never completed. I've been resolute in proving that you can't teach an old dog new tricks; however I soloed on the Jab and then slipped back, so I've been in the sin bin doing laps again. It's the last five feet on arrival that's been the problem. However, yesterday it all came together and I was let off the leash again. So, if the money holds out, I'll eventually be a (very safe) RA-AUS certified old buffer. I'll keep you posted. :clown:
