  1. Ask Sam to post some photos of the GT Gyroplane he is involved with. An amazing machine.
  2. Hi Doug. I liked your Frank Zappa quote. My favorite saying which is certainly true when building an aircraft i "There,s nothing quite like a problem for creating an answer" Author unknown. Richard
  3. Hi Decca, My brother went to a specialist in Adelaide years ago and while he was waiting for his appointment a guy called Ernie Beadle walked into the surgery and my brother thought it was my dad. He said that he even coughed in the same way. I was talking to my brother since your email and he reminded me of this. Spooky!! Richard
  4. Gday Jodie. Keep at it and sooner than you think you will achieve what will become a life long skill. Pretty exciting when you consider the reward for your efforts will last the rest of your life. Regards Richard
  5. Hi Decca. No he is not but there seems to be several independant lines of the family name in Australia. My relations come from Sale in Victoria. As a side line to your comment I have found 47 Richard Beadles on Face Book so the name is quite common, particularly in America. Incidently as a continuation of our previous conversations the powered parachute is now a base frame on wheels in the shed and the strength I was hoping for in the design is definitely evident. I will post some pickies when I get onto my other computer later this week. Richard
  6. Hi Doug! I am in Morphett Vale as well. At the moment I am putting a set of plans together and as you can imagine initially there are lots of questions to be answered. I have a very clear picture of what I am wanting to do and it follows very closely with other people's established and built aircraft but it's the nitty gritty details that I find I want to constantly double check. The mount of information to do with product knowledge and businesses that make or sell items has been quite freely available from the people I'm associated with and I will be taking the machine backwards and forth to get there oversight as I progress. I am happy to keep you informed and let you follow my progress. Thanks for your welcome as well. I am in the process of joining the Barrossa Birdmen Flying club at the moment and then I will sort out my RA-AUS membership. This and the final plan details should be in place in the next 4 weeks. I am going to start welding the main frame up tommorow and hope to have something on wheels in the next 8 to 10 days. If you are happy to do so we could even arrange to catchup with each other. another person's input is always good. Richard
  7. Hi Thumper. I'm just north of Aldinga. Are you an instructor or just flying for recreation. I thought of coming to Aldinga to learn to fly there but the possibility of building a flying machine was unexpectedly presented to me and the technical backup was also available so I have gone in boots and all to build a power parachute trike. Once the people I know at Truro airstrip found out That I was keen the found me lots of components at considerable savings and I am busy accumalating goodies to allow me to start work. I do also plan to learn 3-axis at some stage and Aldinga will most likely be where I will do it. Richard
  8. Hi!! I am still building but will post some pictures as I progree. I expect to be in the air early next year. Richard
  9. Thanks. I will post some pickies as I progress. Richard
  10. Suredo!! I am applying for membership with with the Barossa Flyers and i am currently building a powered parachute with the help of several members of this club. I hope to be up and flying early next year. I have purchased a rotax 447 with low hours and a known operating history but still require the correct type of exhaust and tacho. Isee that this websights shop has cht guages and sensors so I will probably indulge in those as well. My shed has been cleaned out and there are bits of metal etc lining up to be welded. The people in the flying club are terrific and really helpful and I am looking forward to being part of all there future activities. rbeadle
  11. Just landing. I have been a member for a little while but I have only just decided to work out how to place a post. A very informative sight. rbeadle:hug:
