  1. Finally, I have just received delivery of new stock of the Recreational Flying 250 headsets and Portable Intercoms with Push To Talk. I will be putting them into the Clear Prop Shop as soon as I can check that the quality the headsets are known for is still up to scratch so keep an eye out in Clear Prop for them to be marked as available at: These headsets are slightly better than David Clark H10.13 at a fraction of the price. They even have gold plated plugs, 2db better passive noise reduction than DCs and they are so comfortable that even Charter Pilots use them all day.
  2. WOW, 104 views and not one comment, is this site, this resource still working and helping aviators or has it had its day and it is time to move on to say Facebook? I wonder how many users are still flying?
  3. Hi All, I am looking at adding a new feature to the site that enables you to enter the trips you go on. I would need to adapt an addon that is made for the ecording a Hiking, Cycling, Skiing etc to one for Flying trips and I was wondering whether you think it would be a good addition to the site? Now, one thing is that this site has so many great features for you all to add things to and not just discussion forums yet most of you don't add content into them like Movies, Books, Articles, Calendar Events, Gallery, Videos, Blogs, Groups etc. These are all here for you to add anything that you may find on your internet travels and can share to all other site users...this is your site so is there any reason why you don't contribute in all areas? Here is the description of the Trip/Route Feature for you to work out if you think it would be a great feature and would be used: Empower your community members with the ability to submit (by uploading a GPX file), explore, and engage with routes like never before. The Routes application seamlessly integrates with your site platform, enhancing user experience and fostering a vibrant community around outdoor activities, travel, and exploration. Route Submission: Users can effortlessly submit routes directly through the application. They can provide detailed descriptions, upload GPX files, share captivating images and videos, and specify route-specific information such as distance, activity type, difficulty level, weather conditions, surface type, and elevation. This comprehensive data ensures that every route submission is rich in information, guiding fellow adventurers accurately. Interactive Map Display: Harnessing the power of OpenStreetMap, our application provides an intuitive and interactive map interface. Users can visualise routes seamlessly, plan their adventures with precision, and explore routes submitted by others within the community. Community Engagement: Foster community interaction and collaboration through route commenting and reviews. Users can share their experiences, offer tips and recommendations, and engage in discussions related to specific routes. This social aspect enriches the community experience, encouraging camaraderie and knowledge-sharing among members. Robust Filtering and Search: With a vast repository of routes at their disposal, users can easily discover routes tailored to their preferences. Our application offers robust filtering and search functionalities, enabling users to narrow down their options based on criteria such as activity type, difficulty level, location, and more. Whether they're seeking a leisurely hike or a challenging cycling route, finding the perfect adventure has never been easier. Responsive Design: Our application boasts a responsive design, ensuring seamless accessibility across devices of all sizes. Whether users are accessing the platform from their desktops, tablets, or smartphones, they can enjoy a consistent and optimised experience, enhancing usability and convenience. GPX files: Users have the convenience of downloading GPX files for any submitted route, enabling them to seamlessly transfer routes to their own devices, such as GPS devices, smartphones, or fitness trackers, for offline navigation and exploration. Ability to link to the same route on the Strava platform. This feature ensures flexibility and accessibility, empowering users to take their adventures beyond the digital realm and into the great outdoors easily. So what do you think??????
  4. I have purchased 5 tubes of Red but they will not arrive for a couple of weeks, price will be $19.95 a tube
  5. I can get you Green straight away but Red is going to take a couple of months due to the distributor only having Green left at the moment. The price would be about $19.95. I can keep hunting but there is only 1 distributor in Australia. There are alternatives like Loctite 7414 etc. I am waiting for a reply from an overseas dealer but that may also take a week or 2 to get them
  6. Interesting, I have always suggested to people to use RED nail polish, the wife won't miss it and she will think that she has lost it and go out and buy another bottle without complaining that you are spending too much on the plane. I will see what I can get and let you know
  7. Remember, for anything that you need you can use the Clear Prop Free Sourcing Service on the Clear Prop site...just click the image on the Clear Prop Home Page, complete the popup form and click submit. That tells me what to try and source for you at the best possible price, quality and service
  8. This is what I mean, you can get not only a new sender but also a completely new Gauge and wiring as well for less cost than what the supplier you have listed cost is for just the sender and Clear Prop have them in stock for overnight delivery. Also I also have other new gauges engine gauges sitting here on my desk right now which are very high quality but I am yet to be given their cost prices but I believe will be cheaper again. These are all for Rotax 912
  9. Don't you guys like supporting this site by supporting Clear Prop where possible? It seems you would rather spend $15USD plus Shipping to get a Fuel Shut Off Valve when clear Prop has them for $9.95 AUD, in stock and get it over night from Melbourne for less shipping cost. Also noticed that Gap Seal Tape was needed and it was suggested to go to Wings and Wheels in the US...well, now that I know about that I have just purchased the tape for Clear Prop to stock at half the price you would have paid. Guys, if you do need something please have a look in Clear Prop, if it isn't there, I can get it, AND if you find something sourced elsewhere then also let me know so I can add it for Clear Prop so everyone can be better off. Clear Prop is what helps to make this site and all its resources available otherwise I will have no choice than to move the site to Facebook but with a lot less free resources
  10. Yes, then there is an up to 3% extra when withdrawing the money to my bank account: Once you have money in your PayPal account you may want to withdraw it to your linked bank account or card. There may be a fee for this service, depending on exactly how you want to process the withdrawal. Here are the PayPal Australia withdrawal fees for consumer and merchant accounts: Withdrawal type PayPal fees Standard withdrawal to bank account Up to 3% depending on the linked account Currency conversion fees apply if PayPal funds are held in a foreign currency Withdraw to a linked card 1% Currency conversion fees apply if PayPal funds are held in a foreign currency Currency conversion fee 3% – 4%
  11. I could however PayPal charges a huge amount on fees, if I recall about 4%, whereas banks charge me around 1.8% to 2% credit card fees
  12. As a heavy sufferer of Skin Cancer (more surgery on Tue) I am always wearing a Cap outside as they say Slip, Slop Slap etc. and I have a huge range of baseball Caps with all different slogans and Logos on them. So I was wandering what does your favourite Aviation related cap say AND/OR what would you like to have one saying...I might be able to get them made for the Clear Prop shop. There would be far too many of mine to list here. Just thought of having some fun...Remember AVIATION RELATED
  13. Here you go, but on the 2nd one I suggest you turn the sound off unless you want to be dancing around with Stayin Alive - Bee Gees
  14. I get your point, I just posted what the manufacturer gave me. I will try and get clarification for you
  15. The options I have without recoding the core files are very limited. I can set per usergroup (i.e. Members group, First Class Members group etc) the time limit a user has to edit a post - problem here is if it is too short then users don't have enough time to correct anything in their post, if it is too long then following posts may become irrelevant and the whole thread is impacted I can turn the "Post Edited" notice in a post ON or OFF only - problem here is that if a user reads or even posts a reply within the time limit a user has to edit the previous post again their post may also become a victim of the problem above. At least if it does show that the previous post has been edited it could very well save the thread I am very much stuck between a rock and a hard post here. There are 2 options that I can see that may be able to solve these problems: 1. If you need to edit your post but can't as the time limit has expired, post again any clarifications you may need to make 2. If it is very important simply Report the post saying what changes you need or PM me with the changes Remember, read the post before pressing the Submit button, and if there still ends up a problem, there is always help available to you
  16. Sorry mate, unfortunately that is hard coded into the software. I could change it however it would continually plaque me with problems especially when updating.
  17. Hi, finally, after months of hard work in not only software updates and a hugely extended range of current and new products the Clear Prop Pilot and Aircraft Supplies is now open. Remember, your support of Clear Prop helps to ensure the Recreational Flying site remains free and available to everyone. It costs thousands of dollars a year to keep Recreational Flying .com here and available to you so PLEASE, support Clear Prop, help promote Clear Prop to everyone, in your chats with other pilots, at the airfield, here in your posts etc. Purchasing your needs from Clear Prop will help this site help you. I still have many more new products to add to the store our extensive range of hardware like nuts, bolts, screws, clamps etc. PLUS I am still waiting on the complete range of Pilot Supplies from the Aircraft Pilots high quality range of products; ANR and Passive Headsets, Headset parts, Headset extension leads, adaptors and cables, I have already received some of their Pilot Bags and some accessories, also the shipment of Recreational Fling Headsets. Some aircraft instruments like pedestal mount compasses, AH's and DG's etc have arrived and arriving soon is an even bigger range of engine instruments. Other instruments have been slotted in the manufacturer's production line in the coming weeks. I have access to over 28,000 product lines so to support you even further you can use the Clear Prop Sourcing Service. Click the Sourcing image on the Clear Prop Home Page and simply fill out the form of what you are looking for. The last couple of days I have been testing the new order communication system of Clear Prop as order come in and that is working great, keeping you informed on everything to do with your order, including advising you of shipping tracking numbers. Finally, I am excited to announce that you will receive a FREE gift with any new order you place, for a limited time. And, as always I really do welcome ANY feedback that you can give, that is the ONLY way I know what is working right and how I can improve...thanks Just click Our Shop in the main menu to take you to ClearProp.com.au
  18. If you click on your Avatar on the main menu there is a link in the drop down that says Donations
  19. I just had a look and yes you are a First Class Member. So just to test, can you make a post and try and edit it say 20 mins later and let me know
  20. However, you can always do what you did and report the post advising of the changes and why and a Moderator, or myself, will change it for you and ensure any following posts are still in line with the changes.
  21. No sorry, standard users have a 15min window to be able to edit their post where First Class Members have many more abilities like they have a 30min window The issue is that if users can just change their post it can make users that have posted replies look rather silly...even to the point where other people may think that the person making the reply as one who doesn't read posts properly and things like that. A whole thread could become rather ridiculous if this was taken to the extreme.
  22. The updating of the Clear Prop Pilot Supplies Shop is nearing it's ready for release stage. the graphics have been done, the software updated and boxes and boxes of new and different products have been entered in BUT there is still many more boxes to go. There are Engine Instruments, Airfield Accessories, Gifts and Novelties, Hangar Tools, Aircraft Hardware like nuts, bolts etc...just so much more. Some of the Aircraft Pilots Brand products have arrived but still waiting on all the different Aircraft Pilots Headset Cables and Connectors. There is some magnificent Aircraft Pilots Flight Bags that have already arrived taking the range of choice in Pilot Bags to 25 different ones. When it goes live in the next few days there will be give-aways for new orders for a limited time Here is what the new shop site has been developed to look like: Here are some more NEW products: Magnetic Pick-up Tool Wind Vane Wireless and Solar Weather Station Door and Shower Mats Air Frequency Scanners Zip Lock Fastener and Cutting Tool
  23. Another delivery, they are coming thick and fast, this is the first shipment of Instruments for the NEW Clear Prop Shop and yes stock will be maintained as best as I can. The only bad news is the Instrument Manufacturer is no longer making Turn Coordinators and the reason for the lack of supply has been they stopped manufacturing during Covid and are only now just starting to ramp up production again. "Due to the impact of the continuous pandemic in previous years, the labor costs and the supply prices of key spare parts for our instruments keep increasing, so we are unable to control the costs within a reasonable range. Starting in March last year, we stopped production of all models of altimeter, airspeed gauge, and vertimeter. This has continued to this day. There is information that it is expected that we will start production of airspeeds in June and start vertical by the end of the year. There is currently no new news from the altimeter. We also made price adjustments last year. We have retained the production of the compass, DG, and AH, and resumed the production of the sideslip instrument. Simultaneously updated the engine instrument and sensor series. I have arranged for the production of the compasses, and the estimated delivery time will take 2 months. We will not produce Turn Coordinators again. The ASI will resume production around June, and there is currently no time for the Altimeters to resume production." So, as you can see it is hard to get stock especially things that are specific to the Southern Hemisphere like compasses and engine instruments and sensors for recreational aircraft engines. So all I could get in this order is: 20 x Slip Indicators 2 x Pedestal Compasses (more in 2 months) 3 x Pedestal Compasses with 12v Light 3 x DGs 3 x AHs 1 x Rotax Oil Temp 1 x CHT Temp 1 x Rotax Tacho 1 x Fuel Pressure Many different sensors
