  1. What about another LSA the very nice looking Colyaer S.L. I did a CoA on the first one into Australia in 2007 and its kinder sexy looking. Need more info contact me
  2. I am pleased to say interest has been keen since I responded above. Anyone interested in more details on the Used Ramphos Trident should contact me. Looks like this baby might end up in USA.
  3. My inputs a tad late but what about a Ramphos Trident? Imported as a LSA Weight Shift. Need more details contact me I know where one is going VERY cheap
  4. Repairing any LSA Each LSA repair must be completed iaw OEM procedures. As a minimum this is iaw OEM MM or by direct advice from OEM Engineering support. In the case of the CT in Australia I believe the OEM has via a letter approved normal GA procedures. ie: CAR 35/LAME team approach with AC 43-13 as the standard. Unfortunately this letter does not appear on OEM web site. I do know of one maintenance org here in WA that has a copy and I would be happy to share that with you just drop me an email [email protected]
  5. KISS is good but do not trade off KISS for accuracy. Keep in mind the recommended standard for fuel tank calibration is CAO 108.56 para 3.4 (For normal aircraft). It is however a good target to aim for I would suggest. Actual systems will depend on your depth of pocket and the length of the piece of string you are looking at. I wouldn't mind betting that a good google search would net some good ideas.;)
  6. And then there is the outside possibility that a manufacturer will recommend a certain maintenance action at a specific number of landings. ie: Inspect wheel p/n xyz123 at or before attaining 2,000 landing, or Retire p/n xyy333 at or before attaining 500 Landings. All other flying/maintenance types are very familur with this recording requirement.
  7. One of the hats I can wear is that of an aircraft accident/incident investigator. Attended the UNSW course back in late 2003. Its quite interesting how not a lot of interest is given this subject until after the you know what has hit the fan. And if its big lumps and people are hurt or worse, look out, once those legal types get involved it can get very expensive. Investigations are more likely to deliver good results if they are carried out asap following an event not months/years later. Good to see some of my taxes going towards this type of long range thinking.
  8. LSA - CASA CoA Instrument holder Hi all, Thanks for the compliement Dave. Noticed I was mentioned in dispatches below and I would like to correct one minor error. I operate an independant aviation consulting business (PlaneTorque Australia Pty Ltd) and I am not a "Delegate" of CASA but an "Authorised Person". I hold various CASA Instruments with a focus on CoA issue. Claims to fame various and the details can be viewed on my web site www.ptaaus.com.au Thanks. :clown:
  9. LSA - CASA CoA Instrument holder Well I hold a CASA instrument that lets me issue Light Sport Aircraft with CoA's but I don't call myself an Inspector. In fact I issued the first VH- REGO LSA in Australia last year. You might take a look at my web site for more info www.ptaaus.com.au or give me a call on 0893774669 Safe Flying;)
  10. Carby nearly falling off cannot be good for yourperformance or health. Another possiblity as to cause is inappropriate cleaning materials used. If you were interested and can post me the dead bit I could have a closer look and give you a tad more feedback. No cost to you other than postage. Amoungst my many claims to fame are 41 years maintaining various flying machines.
