Wasn't the Quicksilver just two axis? The GT had a yoke type control with teflex cables for controls, made for pretty ordinary feedback. As Nev suggested, go Thruster. The single seat Thruster is a great machine with a control feel similar to a Tiger Moth.

When the police say "No suspicious circumstances" usually means self inflicted. -

Ask most of them who have had much to do with casa and they will tell you what bastards they are..... -
Class 5 medical declaration. My experience
Student Pilot replied to NT5224's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
If you had been involved with casa in such a capacity then you would know what a bunch of bastards they are to deal with. They condone some companies flagrant misuse/abuse and obvious disregard of regulations and rules while pedantically persecuting others. Why are you such a casa sycophant? Smacks of self interest or trolling? -

Read the Glenn Buckley thread on prune. What's your honest opinion on CASA's actions? Have you ever held or do you hold an AOC? -

The system will never work properly again...........CASA is making flying safer by making aviating harder. The more costly and complicated, the happier they are. -
Bankstown Airport - Is it all Doom and Gloom?
Student Pilot replied to Ben's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
GA has lost its sheen. You can call being truthful and passing on your negative experiences "running it down" but it's just really passing on how the degradation of GA affects us. Most of those who used to fly just cannot afford it anymore, driven out by over regulation, over zealous regulator, greedy airport owners/councils/operators, compounding costs of maintenance/liability and hull insurance/fuel and cost of aircraft. Turbo, you can talk it up all you like but the reality is different to all the statistics you quote. -
Crop Duster Crash near Bourke NSW 10/2/2024
Student Pilot replied to FlyingVizsla's topic in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents
What What you refer to is a point for much disgruntlement, it's entirely the BOMs and the Labour government's fault for storms, too much rain, not enough rain, too hot, too cold along with there should be more coal fired power stations, no wind turbines, rainbow flags, trans people, cat litter trays in school toilets and how Abbot should still be prime minister. Gives much joy, endless conversation to the enlightened elite. 🤪 -

Time for the bottom feeders to get involved then 😜 They will be able to "seek compensation" for wrongful predictions. Either the storms didn't arrive or they were early/late......It's the same as farmers blaming BOM for declaring an El Nino, weather varies, farmers know that. -
4.11.23 Cloncurry light plane crash

There were radio transmissions, it's been mentioned on prune control questioned the pilot about pressurisation. The pilot referred to oxygen rather than pressurisation, he was a very experienced ex military pilot used to pressurisation, it was thought an unusual comment. -
Thermals, birds flying in them. Souther-hemisphere.
Student Pilot replied to flying dog's topic in AUS/NZ General Discussion
Was just watching a couple of Wedge-tails, both circling anti clockwise. I'm gong to be highly controversial here and say maybe most thermals and not all air movement rotates? A thermal is a bubble of air moving up, why is it rotating? -
I think exiting that modified machine would be more than difficult after ditching.

I have never noticed any one direction, I would think they would circle into the highest lift either direction like a glider. -
Issued by a third party contracted to gov?

How many times has the aircraft been "found"? Needs a History channel special along with the mandatory tattooed expurt proclaiming what if? Could it be? Along with lots of blurry shots of sediment obscured seabed with aircraft shaped coral.

How many truck drivers have to have security checks? Any person with a heavy rigid truck licence can drive a truck with a 15 ton load, a truck driven into the right target could be devastating. There are still airports in Australia where Dash 8 or Saab passengers do not get searched or x-rayed. As stated before ASIO have a file for every person with a pilots licence along with the associated security investigations. Don't trust ASIO? Some private contracted company can do a better job by supplying a plastic card and checked by the bloke who mows the grass on a council airfield. What a joke.

I remember seeing a Mustang with a RR Dart in Canberra more than a few years ago, I recently read it had been converted back the Merlin and an ex Apollo astronaut once owned it.
