  1. Hi folks, Sorry for the delayed response, I only just saw this thread the other day - I am a regular browser of the forums (both on behalf of TurbAero, but also as a rec pilot myself) and it was great to come across a thread on us. We were indeed at Sun 'n' Fun, and will also be at Oshkosh this year. I had a read through and would like to quickly address some of the points/questions that have already been raised: Firstly, the primary market for this engine is as a replacement for an IO360/IO390 (or similar; that 180-240hp range). Being 200hp, flat-rated up to 8,000ft, it is aimed at a different market as compared to, say, the Jab 3300. At 10,000ft the Talon will still be able to produce approx. 190hp. If you throttle back to 150hp, we anticipate a fuel burn of approximately 12.7gph, or 48lph (an SFC of 0.57lbs/hp/hr) of Jet-A; which we believe is very comparable with piston engines of similar performance. As mentioned, small turbines are historically inefficient - we achieve our fuel figures through the use of recuperator technology; which adds approx 15-25% in efficiency. They do add weight, and incorporating a recuperator in a small package such as an aircraft engine is a very challenging task, but we are getting very close to having the design finalised. Lastly, we are targeting a purchase price of $85k, with a TBO of 3,000 hours. Just thought I'd post and let you know that we have a presence here, and I am happy to answer any questions you may have.
