  1. Thanks - I'm looking at Fremantle so the Serpentine and Murryfield maybe the best option for convenience. Appreciate the reply 👌
  2. Gday all, I will be moving to the south Perth area in Jan 23 and would appreciate any support with continuing to fly with RA-Aus Certificate. I currently fly Nth of Brisbane through private hire ( Sling 2) and hoping to pick up a similar arrangement in the West. Any POC or airfields which would suit please pass on. Thanks Jon
  3. Hi all, Hoping to save some time by asking the experts how to convert a David Clark head set P/N 41025G-01 plug. I have a comms cord with PTT see first picture ( helo headset) and want to convert to standard GA plug see second picture. Is there any impedance matching which I need to consider? I have included a wiring diagram which may help. Thanks Jon
  4. Does anyone know when this change in regulation will occur?
  5. Thanks to all for the feedback. I hope to be living on Nth side of Brissy so plenty of options. Cheers Jon
  6. Hi all, Looks like I might have a new job to go to in Brisbane. Was hoping to get some info on available airports/ airfields in the region which cater for recreational licence- 3 axis. Also probably look at hiring at first. Thanks and safe flying Regards Jon
  7. Hi Vev, is your aircraft still forsale? Regards Jon
  8. Thanks Paul, My parents use to live up at Waterview Heights and for many years now I have wanted to do some local flying. It's such a spectacular area and sounds like a challenging airfield at times- i imagine Nth Brother Mt and its neighbours could drum a good washing machine and rotor. We don't plan to be up until after Sep so hopefully the weather will be good to us. Again thanks for your info and hopefully get to catch up later in the year. Regards Jon K
  9. That's the one - great exactly what I was after
  10. Hi all, Was hoping to get in touch with anyone who can help me organise flying out of the Johns River airfield ( or any other field in the area). Aircraft would be a microlight, hoping to spend the week in the area around Oct/Nov. Cheers Jon
  11. Hi Mick, I have a HGFA weigtshift licence and was very keen to change to 3'axis. Would appreciate any/ all info you have on the change. Much appreciated Jon K
  12. Hi Vev, Thanks - yes this is exactly the info I was after. The Jabiru is a great aircraft which is incredibly affordable. Combined with a rotax (100Hp) as you pointed out ..... You have a great machine to fly. So I imagine you did not use a standard mount? So if one buys themselves a jab 160 do you have a procedure to follow etc Cheers Jon Btw what specs are you getting?
  13. Thanks guys interesting info especially from AAK team in Taree. Obviously the J230 can be converted but what about the other models? Is there a list ? Cheers

  15. Hi all, I have done a few searches on finding out info on modifying a Jabiru aircraft with a Rotax 912 but have had no joy. Plenty of info and debate on Jabiru engines etc (not going there). Could someone just explain if it's possible (models), what is required, positives/ negatives in doing so and costs. In the end the Jabs seem like a great plane and the Rotax an excellent engine - why not match them? Cheers J

  17. Craig, Having flown across Austrailia for a charity flight from Forbes to Broome I found it to be very challenging and weather dependent. We had a support party which could trailer etc if weather was poor. Amazing experience but you certainly need to do your planning and not be in a rush. Cheers J
  18. hi all, trying to help a friend out with a on going problem with his Pegasus weight shift with 912. The aircraft was originally fitted with microair radio which had terrible interference at high Rpm, not so bad at idle and ok with engine off. Just fitted a independent radio system to aircraft ie no power supply or aerial from aircraft but original problem exists. I an assuming there is noise interference from 912??? Does anyone know of any similar issues probs or solutions. thank FF
  19. Hi to all, next year i an looking at the possibility of moving to Tonga for 3 years with work. Therefore can anyone tell if i am able to fly my microlight in this country and what would be required to do so. my other option is to sell but i an concerned of falling out of currency/auth and losing the skill set any help would be great
  20. Bluey - thanks mate for the info. When I contacted Airborne sometime ago they recommended to tighten up the wing nut quite tight which is similar to your advice, but I did not check for the gap etc. Cheers will have a look. As I have mentioned previously I have some movement(1-2mm) in the upper portion of the mast which could be minimized by tightening the forward, aft and lateral bolts shown in your pic above. This has made some improvement but my gut feeling is that their is some play or wear which has occured from flying in some heavy turb last year which could be easily sorted by replacment of the mast. However I have 200 AFHRS to run before mandatory replacemtn and I am happy to monitor in the mean time. Recently I did a check flight with the CFI and he was not that concerned with the yaw issues. Anyway thanks again.... Regards Footy
  21. All good mate- his thoughts were that the Airborne machine is known for this characteristic. Cheers Footy
  22. I have been checking most days - poor bugger with all the rain.... I believe he is planning to finish in Sydney, would love to be there!
  23. If your talking about Airborne - they didn't seem to concerned about the issue, I will see a CFI tomorrow who has plenty of experience. Mate as far as 'Flight for Cancer' it maybe a good move especially with insight into the trip itself, i.e planning, route, stops, accommodation etc Say hi to all
  24. Hello there old mate Pembo! Good timing my friend - I am flying the aircraft up to the CFI on Friday for a look. I am confident I have some minor wear/play on the 2 bolt holes which secure the top part of the mast on. This probably happened from flying in the 'washing machine' with an Airborne aircraft. The easiest and probably my only option is to replace the mast - unfortunate this isn't due replacement for another 200afhrs. Mate- missing all you guys up there and cant wait to catch up in Mt Isa next year. Cheers Matlow
  25. John, my Streak 11 doesn't have the bungies, it has the internal spring batterns. Either way I am not to sure if the wing is at fault as the wing flies quite true with power at cruise or below. Crezzi you have given me a great and simple check which I can C/O which I will endeavour to do. The only prob is my two fellow trikers in my area fly Pegasus. I have a CFI about an hour from me so I think a check by the CFI is needed. Thanks guys
