Yes exactly - I have out on the aircraft already so the skyecho is overkill. They do look like a good thing though.
-
I now have ADSB out on my aircraft. Have just purchased a uavionix PING ADSB receiver to display ADSB traffic on OzRunways. Have not tried it yet but should give similar input to the Skyecho at a fraction of the price.

I enjoy the Foxbat. Not particularly fast but otherwise a nice aircraft. And its comfortable for my 6'2". I must get back in one - have not flown one for almost a year.

I love OzEunways, have used it almost from its inception, and have no intention of stopping just because of an ownership change. Maybe in the future if all the dire predictions in this post come true I will change my mind but not until it actually happens.

Thanks - yes got that feedback so I have ordered the mag as well

I have gone for the TailbeaconX and AV30C as well. Being installed next week. Looking forward to seeing how it goes. For me it killed two birds - my DG was dying so will use the AV30C as DG.
-
I have that as a back up - but cant find where they publish a direct number these days.
-
Thanks for that ! Will give it a go

Isn’t the ky96 the 24 volt version ?
-
Hi folks, my ky97a has lost its screen. I have to ferry the aircraft to Bankstown in the next week or so to get new radio amongst other things. While a handheld will probably work I was wondering if anyone in the Sydney / Camden area had a serviceable ky97a lying round I could borrow ?

I live 5 minutes from one airport where no hangars available, 15 minutes from another where hangarage is about 800+ per month - bought a hangar about 50 minutes away will have to see how that effects my flying.

If only casa would do things in a reasonable time. 29 business days after doing my medical and I am still waiting !
-
I did - when I was pretty sick ! Now waiting to get my medical approved 5 years later - long delays in CASA !!

question Acceptable Cylinder Compression - Lycoming O-235-C1
IanR replied to sseeker's topic in Engines and Props
The compression or leak down number only say what each cylinder is like. The cost of replacement or overhauled cylinders is not huge. However, on a little used engine the big problems will come from internal corrosion and deterioration on things like camshaft, etc. When I bought my Auster it had done only 3 hours in the last year. One cylinder had 36 while the others were 78. It had corrosion and leaking round valve seat. This was fixed and the total was about $1500. -
Brings back memories. Quite a few hundred enjoyable hours flying SNQ including on my honeymoon!
-
Don’t sell the Auster Kaz. It’s painful

I only met Ido last month and went for a fly with him. He seemed a very nice guy and his enthusiasm for all things aviation was infectious -
Pilot Certificates (Sport Aviation Bodies) Direction
IanR replied to ave8rr's topic in Governing Bodies
With my current cancer there is no talk of cancelling actual licence. In fact CASA are keeping in touch with progress so we can start the process of getting medical back. While the process sucks it certainly attainable. there was an article not that long ago of a QANTAS flight that was crewed completely by people who have recovered from cancer. -

Nice one Nev ! The C180 is one of my all time favourite touring aircraft. -
Pretty impressive. The difference between the Foxbat and A32 is huge and shows what can be achieved cleaning up. They are the same wing I think.
