  1. G'Day all, Just putting a shout out there, I'm looking for an L2 maintainer available to conduct a 50 hourly service our Sportstar at Gladstone Airport. My current L2 does a fantastic job, however, he's a bit busy over the next couple of weeks. It does have a couple of hours left, and wx permitting, I'm able to fly it somewhere if needed, or pay call-out for someone to come to us. If you know of anyone available, please call Cory: 0412178868 or Darren: 0439760762 Or email [email protected] Cheers, ILP
  2. Keep your uselessness to yourself. We've had this plane since brand new, trained our students and instructors to look after it, had it maintained by a very reputable military engineer and sought advise from the manufacturer with every question regarding maintenance. They fail mate. You just keep on pretending yours won't because you "look after it better". Don't expect us to give a sh!t when ya end up in a ditch. Planes
  3. Geez, is it hot in here? ... FD, I don't think Motz is promoting bad airmenship... In your original post You kept saying "NO REPLY", as if they were supposed to talk back to you? They're not control towers mate, they don't have to read-back your every call, or give you clearance to join... That's YOUR job... Were you expecting every one of the "unknown number" of acft in the circuit to give you the thumbs up that they heard you on the radio? Perhaps instead of blaming everyone else and running to CASA, try to see what YOU could have done better. Sounds to me like you wandered into a circuit very situationally unaware ... Concerned that you weren't being heard/talked back to, yet didn't request a radio check to confirm you were transmitting. Unaware of how many aircraft were in the circuit and with concerns that they weren't using their radio you STILL proceeded to join without being sure you had them all sited. I have to say I'm with Motz on this one - when you look up the very important definition of "OVERFLYING" ... Perhaps read up on when it would be appropriate to use. Hang about above cct height, get yourself situationally aware, THEN Join if its safe to do so. Just my $0.02 Planes.
  4. "I can see the benefits of the way you teach andy but it must be hard on students initially?" Reading the position of a needle on an altimeter... Reading the position of a runway up wing strut... All the same IMO.
  5. They don't always.. This one scorched a 400mm trench in the dirt for 20m and still hung on...
  6. Hi guys. Here's a flight path mock-up. Props to Motz, he's taught me everything I know. I hope you all have as good an instructor as I do. Cory.
  7. If you paid for it using Australian legal tender, technically you've lost nothing - the money wasn't yours in the first place. :P
  8. Incredible how far battery development has come in the last 5 years. I'm still holding my breath for some decent capacitors though. Then we'll be flying!
  9. If it's a specific sort of sound, and doesn't change a great deal, I wouldn't suspect headsets or audio connections - especially if it's in both headsets. Could be a supply related issue, does the display dim or flicker when you transmit?
  10. I don't understand what people are saying here? ... How can a stop and go be any more beneficial to your training?
  11. Afraid I'm with motz and barefootpilot on this on ... Unserviceable is unserviceable - period. Not having a dig at ya Tomo, we've all made mistakes before and I'm sure many of us have flown, realising later that we shouldn't have. I'm just shocked to see people defending the decision to fly an aircraft that is U/S. Apart from the obvious (or not so obvious) safety concerns, it's against the law and, in my opinion, is bad airmanship. Saying that the brakes on a Jab "don't do much" or that it can be "flown safely without them" is like saying that an engine will run fine on one magneto. Just another hole in the swiss cheese if ya ask me. Is this really the attitude we should be promoting in aviation? ... Cory.
  12. No Rob, its on a trailer at jaspers. The lads from 817 sqdn helped us lift it on.
  13. Good on onya Rach! ... It looked awesome ... I do hope you had a few celabratory drinks last night! ... Yes, you are a pr**k ... Ya hadn't been in the plane with her for more than a minute lol
