  1. J230D Throttle sticking Thanks for that and I will follow up on it .... we filled the cable with oil and that has fixed the problem for the moment .... Thanks vm Bruce
  2. J230D Sticky Throttle Hi All ... problem identified as the throttle cable needing lubricating which has been done and throttle operating smoothly again ... have written this check into 50 hour ritual. Thanks everyone for your help. Cheers Bruce
  3. J230D Throttle Sticking Hi Phil Thanks for you input which I will do tomorrow ... the a/c has been in storage over the winter so I suspect your right ... I tried to find something on the Jabiru site but couldn't see any mention of what maintenance the throttle needs... Cheers Bruce
  4. Hi Tomo .... The throttle is dash mounted ... I will take cowl off tonite ... appreciate your input. Cheers Jab Guy
  5. On my last flight the throttle was sticking and required some force to get to idle ... how should it be freed up ? Cheers Bruce
  6. RA or VH or ZK Harvey you are correct ... when I ferried my J230D SYD to AKL it was VH-FTE and all that was required was to get a temporary Oz ppl issued which was easily done ... the documentation was as you state ... I could have ferried under an RA # if it was on one according to my Casa contact. Gst isn't payable on visiting aircraft in NZ and carnet is a good document for this purpose. Cheers Bruce
  7. Hi Doug ... Papamoa is by Tauranga which is 35 mins from AR in the J230D .. don't know what happened to the Snark but you got me interested , will let you know.. Cheers Bruce
  8. Hi Terry .... Yes it was VH-FTE when I picked it up at Bankstown and is now ZH-PSH based at Ardmore airfield in Auckland , very pleased with it too ! Cheers Bruce
  9. I wouldn't recommend it at 85kts unless a consistent 20kt tailwind is available and the use of a ferry tank definitely the best decision.... cheers Bruce
  10. Hello everyone ... I am a kiwi living in Auckland and have a J230D ... my only claim to fame is that I flew it across the Tasman making it the first Jab to do that inane (according to my wife) thing ...coming to NZ look me up. Cheers
