Are you referring to the Beal Aircraft Dubbo message? - if so, I apologise if I did not respond to you personally - I did contact Beal (thanks) and received an estimate for the work - about $400. I mentioned this in the open conversation.

Got you!
So what's the Envelope icon for?

Ref: Sonex to Rotax 9 engine mount/conversion. This is a Mk1 Sonex mount. Distinguished from the Mk 2 by having two rails as apposed to four. It was installed, now removed, so has some marks however engine never started. Kit is complete with rubbers & bolts.
NOTE: I am selling just the two cast aluminium parts plus rubbers, washers & bolts (not the rest of the engine bed/frame)
Make me a fair offer & they are yours (plus postage)
I can be contacted through: [email protected] and/or 0499030659

Hi JG3 - Just re read your article(s) on propeller performance/comparisons. I have been trying to get some informed comment on CS/IFA props (you may have seen my thread "Prop Selection" on the topic. I would be very interested in your observations on the matter.
You will find in the aforementioned "thread" my rational for going down this particular line of enquiry - in short - terrible home field, requiring short field TO/Landings, ever time. Ground adjustable set for advantage climb. Resulting in, expected, reduced cruise performance. My wish to explore options to retain excellent existing TO & climb out performance, while significantly improving cruise. Seems to me a CS/IFA is the only way I can have my cake and eat it. I guess the question is by how much (if at all) can I expect to gain in cruise.
Aircraft: ATEC Zephyr, motivated by Rotax 912 ULS through a Fiti 2 blade ground adjustable. Note: Fiti - couldn't be happier - very smooth, quiet running.

Hi Robin,
By way of introduction:
I am not sure when/how I came across your article on the development & exploits of VH-SGS but it must be many years back - about the time you put her up for sale.
As I have mentioned in my Forum conversation - what fascinates me is what you have achieved with so little in the way of power and what must be a fundamentally sound aerodynamic/airframe design but otherwise unspectacular looking aircraft (no offence to Mr Monnett).
As a person of European (rather than N American) leaning, I admire small nippy economical sports cars rather than the big V8's. Your adaption of the Soneri seems to neatly fit into this philosophy.
Over the years I have "measured" all small aircraft performance claims against VH-SGS and with but a few exceptions, come to the conclusion that they are at best wishful thinking but most likely just lies.
Some of my Forum correspondents think I am obsessed with speed - not so. In aircraft, I see speed and hp/fuel consumption as a measure of efficiency. I dont necessarily want to fly at max cruise speed all the time but like the idea of trying to get my aircraft as efficient as it can be, within its physical limitations.
I have written to you befor asking if you know of VH-SGS current situation( A Forum member suggested she was not much used) and would the owner be interested in selling.
Regards
