  1. Thanks Peter, thats what I was hoping to hear but suspect that it may not be strictly legal without rta eye test. Unfortunatley Ross I think you may be right, will check with casa but I had my right eye done 3 yrs ago but was towing gliders at the time and don't recall missing a beat. Like you I used a polaroid snap on with the right lens missing at that time but my left eye at that time was my best "distance" eye. Seems more of an issue this time although I have been driving with sunnies only and feel more comfortable than I have for a long time. Actually hoping I won't have to wear glasses. Regards Ian.
  2. I've just had a cataract removal and lense replacement operation to my left eye but have to wait a month before I can get a new prescription for specs. Best vision without specs in 40 years however, both my drivers licence and ga medical certificate state that I must wear specs or contact lenses. The doc says I'm right to drive. Has anyone had this experience and am I legal to fly:;)5:
  3. This was not so new plastic, possibly clear originally. Most of the lines had been replaced but this, for whatever reason ,had not. Probably because it was't exposed to the elements.
  4. Its not my aircraft Knighty, however I am currently flying it as a recent convert from ga. This line was the cross flow line for the two tanks and out of the direct sunlight. I am certain this has now been rectified and unlikely to happen again with this aircraft, however I thought it worth a mention as others may unknowingly have the same problem. Otherwise a fun aeroplane to fly and loving being a part of RA aus.
  5. While tracing the fuel lines on a Quicksilver GT 500 out of curiosity,a simple flick with the fingers caused the line to disintergrate and the more I tried to stop the flow the more it fell apart till in the end I had two flows of fuel into the rear cockpit area.Fortunately this happened on the ground. How long is it since you checked your fuel lines?
