  1. The best part of flying is the take off and landing, the rest is well so so.😊
  2. John Stevens from Redcliffe Brisbane, ran a outboard motor with belt reduction, pusher, on a amphibian 95.10 he designed, an incredible little A/C , doubt if there will be any footage of it. Cooling shouldn't be a problem. We raced a Peugeot 404 in a Hydroplane, water feed was 1/4 inch copper pipe scoop on one sponson and we had difficulty getting it to run hot enough. It was doing 80 MPH though.
  3. Thanks BP Bought a new one from Mikunioz, solved my problem.
  4. Still flying Mark, I think during the week YCAB would have to be one of the most deserted airfields except for those helicopters. They must be nice folk though as they always give me a radio check.
  5. Thanks M61.. will chase them up.
  6. Any one with a new Mikuni pulse pump for Single Carby (503 Rotax) laying around they wish to sell? Thanks ----Howe ---0466 983 105
  7. Thanks Bex No hurry, if he was after a single seat I have a Kestrel which I have been working on, nearly a done.
  8. Yes Damiens, Both sports can bite you if you get it wrong, so far no injuries, flying since 1980 kite surfing since 2007,just bought a foil, waiting for spring.
  9. So my perfect day would be a fly on floats in AM and a kite surf PM Basically flying and kite surfing are a perfect match, except a bad float landing is a whole lot worse than a bad kite jump, but you still gotta get the flare right in both.
  10. These are a good alternative to hiring.
  11. Dotmar plastics, believe they have a branch in most capital cities and do 1.5 mm
  12. Jack, I know of 2 kestrels that may be of interest and fit your criteria, similar to mine (photo) but on wheels. PM me if interested.
  13. Before you attempt to fly it. The wings don't appear to have any where enough tension in them. The skin should be drum tight i.e. no wrinkles as depicted in the photo. Happy flying.
  14. Mick as a rule one float must be able to displace the mtow of the aircraft i.e. if mtow 300kg you will need 300litres per float. A set of floats for the above ac gets reasonable expensive. For materials alone I would say approx $3,000 and thats not the support structure.
  15. Greetings from Brisbane. New Float Plane Video........ more info here Hargraves
  16. Hello John, Yes,its a great little plane and has been kept in excellent condition by its original owner. Cheers ..Howard
  17. Thanks DJP looks like a lot of good info there, will go searching.
  18. Can some one either give me a link of confirm mech props of above. Best I have is Ftu=262 Mpa Fty = 241 Mpa Looking at 47.8 OD x 1.7 wall tube, which I presume is extruded.
  19. Well if you are still on the ground with minimal strip left get another aircraft.
  20. Well that means they may be just about out of their design life.... ha ha
