I have carried 2 x 10Litre jerries plus luggage etc with plenty of room to spare
-
Lets talk round figures - 3.5 hrs safe range @ around 100kts = a long way + a 20litre jerry = even further. Can't make too much comment on the wheels as I haven't landed on anything particularly rough, other than I am based on a gravel strip that sometimes gets a little corrugated - no problems

Ooooooooop! Better correct myself before someone else does - think mine is No. 02, not 01 - the Jab factory prototype would be No.01

Well Boys and Girls, my J120 (No. 01) has a whopping 40 hours on the clock now, mostly due to time and weather constraints (aint Melbourne great). I can say with confidence that I still believe that I could not have purchased a better aircraft!!! I have to really dig deep to think of any gripes, so the best I have is that the brakes are terrible. I will be trying softer pads soon. Happy flying!

After quite some negotiation I got a VSI

I picked up my new J120 1st April and flew it back to Melbourne. Cruise 3000RPM @ 105kts hands-off for hours on end with 2 blokes, full fuel and luggage on board! What a lovely, well balanced and mannered aircraft it is! When the word gets around a little more, I predict that Jabiru will sell these by the bucket load! BTW the Microair radio fitted to my J120 is in-built dual com type - works fantastic! The Garmin 296 is neatly tucked into the panel and easy to read due to the angle it is mounted. At this point in time I feel my decision to buy this aircraft was spot on!

Fair point folks, but there's plenty of room left on the panel, so anything you may feel lacking may be added later, surely???

G'day Chris, I considered many options; was keen on a Sonex (2nd hand as I don't have time to build) at one point. I figured that resale would be better on a factory built. As far as instruments are concerned, I still wonder just how many instruments we all need flying VFR anyway? Maybe to those with more flying experience than I, this may sound silly! I have a whopping 35 hrs approx clocked up flying Jab's out of Tooradin. I'll keep you posted, and may even drop into your strip sometime in the new Jab for a cuppa, as you are in a gorgeous part of the country! Regards, Glenn

Well folks, If you all just wait a short while, I can give you an update with the real story of the J120. I ordered one as the value was so tremendous. They tell me delivery will be mid March and I eagerly await its arrival!

G'day Justin, Welcome to the area. I await delivery of my new J120 currently on order from Jabiru and have been discussing hangaring at Coldstream. I have been doing my training at Tooradin Flying School and can give them the thumbs up. Lilydale will however only be 5 minutes from Coldstream, so suggest you follow Brent's advice and make your decision accordingly. I may poke my head in the door to see how you're doing at Coldstream sometime. I also see a response from Phil here......G'day mate! Trust you're racking up the hours. Regards, Glenn
