  1. Any locals able to give me some feedback on what it is like living there? From all the reviews, video's, photo's I have concerned myself with it looks like my Paradise. I come from Namibia (a Google search will reveal the beauty), but like many other Southern African's I have become sick and tired of the politics in Africa (racism, corruption, murders, discrimination etc) and have hence moved to NZ. No doubt a wonderful country with many great opportunities. But I miss "Desert" like environments, warm temperatures, awesome sunsets which one can enjoy while flying a trike in a T-Shirt and short pants, dust in every corner and joint, open fires to “braai” some steaks and some sausages, but most of all the FREEDOM! Flying low-level over the wonderful scenery and taking the quads into the middle of nowhere for a day! What is Alice like? Aviation like, things like building your own Hanger (or perhaps my own recreational airfield), living costs, the temperature, does it cool down in the evenings and mornings, overhaul weather etc. Feedback would be much appreciated Kind Regards JP
  2. Thanks Very much for the warm replies. I have a Canon 450D with a twin lens kit. I will hopefully soon have a Canon 100-400 in my collection! I am currently not doing any flying due to the financial aspect. (Refuse support from my parents) I am currently Job hunting (been 3 months no luck) and will hopefully soon have one. If this proves succesful within the next 3 weeks I will be attending Oshkosh this year, if it fails...well then il be at Oshkosh next year. I will most certainly post pictures! Kind Regards JP
  3. Well hello fellow Aviation nuts. My name is JP and I have recently emigrated from Namibia, a small country in Southern Africa. I am half German and half Africans. My Father is a LSA Aircraft owner and experienced Private Pilot. At this stage I do not hold a Pilots license. But I hope that I will soon take up Glider Flying and later on powered flying. But for now I am on the hunt for a part time job to fund this expensive addiction. I grew up flying; it’s mostly all I think about. I am also a Photographer and love a good day out with the good old Canon. This seems to be a great forum, albeit a little slow. I hope to be able to sensibly contribute to it. I live in Pukekohe New Zealand and if there is anybody around whom wants to take me for flip, pop me a mail. I am only 17, so no going clubbing! Kind Regards JP
