  1. In my opinion the left side is the wrong side. I always have trouble sleeping on that side
  2. About 4 years ago I sold my Jabiru SK to a pilot in Wentworth which is just North of Mildura. I took off from Frogs Hollow airstrip which is near Merimbula on the Far South Coast at 8am with a full load of fuel, (65L) I also carried a 20L ferry tank of fuel on the passenger seat. This I was able to pump into the main tank as it emptied. The flight took 5hours and 15 minutes. At the end of the flight I had about 10 litres of fuel left, so used 75L. I carried a pee botle but did not have to use it . I bought a Jabiru J120 which I fly now. Neville Jollands, Frogs Hollow
  3. Thanks all for the replies Found that Aircraft Spruce keep them in stock and delivery is just a few days. So have ordered from them with a few other bits I needed. I used to try to buy within Australia but we really are a global market now and delivery is often faster than interstate. nevjoll
  4. Have Jabiru SK with2200 engine. and Bing type 64 (32mm) Carburetor. Is there an agent for Bing here in Australia able to supply a rebuild kit? This would include all the rubber parts and gaskets. I have the various new valves and needles I E the brass parts. Just need the parts subject to ageing. Thanks, Nevjoll
  5. GPs I would also recommend the Geo Pilot 2. I have had the plus model for the last year. It has always behaved well. Nice big clear screen with contour awareness. I don't think there is any point in paying the extra for the plus model as we in Australia can't get the benefits it provides. Back to the Airmap 2000c. Had problems with the buttons not working. A friend pulled it down and found the ribbon connector from the control buttons had almost fallen out. I don't do aerobatics! I've also flown with the Garmin 296. Nice unit but screen is too small and text too small to read. Nevjoll
  6. In a word "Don't. They are no longer making them and the Australian Agent is of no help at all with problems. nevjoll
  7. When I first started flying my Jabiru SK there seemed to be much more to remember than when flying a Gazelle. One of those things was remembering to retract the flaps at 70knots. So easy to forget. I made up a small metal box which sits above the flight instruments on the dash. It's very simple, a switch and a flashing red light. Whenever I pull the flap lever down, I now automatically switch on the red flashing light. It's a constant reminder to me to retract the flaps before reaching 70knots. One could use small batteries, mine is 12v It's bright enough to remind but not bright enough to dazzle. Works well. There is a UK guy who sells a kit which lights automatically when the flap handle is moved. nevjoll
  8. Hi everyone, I'm Neville. Based at Frogs Hollow Airstrip, on the NSW Far South Coast. This used to be the old Bega Aerodrome until Merimbula (YMER) came into being. I own and fly a Jabiru SK. This is, I think, the original Jabiru model The pilots and enthusiasts are in the midst of building a new clubhouse, with a grand opening in February of next year. Start your planning now! Neville
