  2. Last week we made a flying trip to Verdun, to visit the world war I battlefields and the Douaumont Ossuary.   3. Last week we flew to Tábor in the Czech Republic for the last three days of the 2022 World Junior Gliding Championships. The trip was fun and it was great to be there. In the Club class, the United Kingdom was declared the winner. In the Standard Class, Germany won and also triumphed in the country teams.   4. Although we had been to Midden-Zeeland many times before, we had not yet taken the bike from the airport to visit Middelburg. It is certainly worthwhile to do so. Abbey in Middelburg A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-

  7. The flight school at Locarno Airport reopened in June after it had been closed since March due to the Corona virus. We took a weekend trip to Locarno to visit our son / brother. Crossing the Alps A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-

  10. On Saturday I visited the Stadskanaal aerodrome for the first time. In the past it was an airfield only for ULV/MLE aircraft, but now also aircraft up to 890kg (1962 lbs) are approved. It was time to fly a Cessna 150 once again. Stadskanaal A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-
  11. After intense working from home for days due to the coronavirus, it was time for a little break at about lunch time.   12. The Grote Waard was a farming region between South-Holland and Brabant, that disappeared in the Sint-Elisabeth's flood of 1421. For decades the church steeples of the drowned villages were still visible above the water. Biesbosch A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-

  19. Hi Peter. It's a lot of history packed in a small country that happens to be in the strategic river delta of the Rhine and Meuse. The Defense line of Amsterday forts are concrete structures with an earth layer on the side facing where the enemy would come from. They are still there, although most of them not open to the public.   21. Sight-seeing flight over 't Gooi and the Utrecht Hill Ridge in the Netherlands. Specially interesting is the Naarden Fortification, the Fortresses of the New Dutch Waterline and the pyramid built in 1804 by Napoleon's soldiers. Muiderslot A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-

  24. The original plan for a trip to the French Alps did not materialize. The weather was just not good enough for the trip. But we made good with some nice flights, and also I did the two-yearly training flight. The weather would not be good in the weekend. On Friday we returned the plane to its base.   25. Team sailplane flying is still enroute by car to the French Alps, and have stopped at Dijon, Darois aerodrome. They visited the nice city of Dijon. I just made a little sightseeing flight on Tuesday. St.John's Cathedral, 's-Hertogenbosch A trip report with pictures can be found here -o-o-
