  1. I've flown out of Goulburn a fair bit and have hired the local Gazelle however I'm not keen particularly keen on it at $220 wet an hour. I live in Canberra. Anyone know of any other options re hire in the area?
  2. Checkout Goulburn Flight Training Centre - www.gftc.com.au I'm doing my RA Aus license there at the moment. They run a 7 day a week training school with GA and RA planes, and have a couple of new Gazelle's they hire out. Good bunch of people and about an hours easy drive from Canberra.
  3. Thanks all - had a quick chat to Ben Dumbrell from Tumut Aero Club this afternoon and I'll be going for a drive down to their club facilities shortly to check it out. Might also head down to Temora Aero Club. Anyone know of the two and can comment?
  4. Sounds great guys - thanks. Might meander over to club next Monday if I'm in town.
  5. There are museums at Brisbane and Adelaide Intl. Aiports.
  6. Hi Folks, I've wound up here after investigating GA licensing (to be knocked back by childhood epilepsy), having flown a few times in gliders, helis and Cessna's and realising that as long as I'm in control of the stick and not touching the ground then this could be the way for me to take my lovely wife for a flight! I live and breath aircraft and flying - house has been overtaken by RC aircraft, I fly a couple of times a week (passenger only) and often sit in the Cafe by the airstrip @ Canberra airport just to watch the incoming traffic (enjoy the landings more ;) ) Have uncountable hours under my belt re FS2004, FSX and X-plane - but it's just not the same as being in the air for real. Looking forward to hooking up with some local guys - I've yet to find a local recreational club although the more research I do the more I see that 'local' often = hours away :) Cheers Adam (VH-AHL - virtual ident)...
  7. Hi, I'm unable to get a GA license due to childhood epilepsy (last fit was 18 years ago!) - so I'm looking into recreational flying. As the title says - what would be a good club to train with (intensively if possible) within a reasonable drive of Canberra? Looking at flying powered aircraft - not gliders. Cheers, Adam
