  1. Rotax 912 Series Engine Operation & Maintenance Concerns: An Interview With Brian Meyerhofer of Leading Edge Air Foils | Midwest Flyer – General Aviation Magazine This site has some information that may be of interest to you
  2. Came to my notice because they had details of the Egyptian plane smoke alarms etc The site lists daily commercial aviation incidents and accidents and is quite revealing as to the number each day 5 to 10. Engine failure, runway incursion, smoke in cabins, planes clipping trees, planes clipping aerials etc Toby1
  3. The Kiunga PNG plane crash - Brittan Islander twin. Strange the report was engine failure with two engines, suspect contaminated or low fuel
  4. 6 months full time is 1000 hours. suggest you get bars for the windows, doors and sky lights and blinds engines, instruments, props etc tradeable intruder alarm exit emergency signs, fire ex, home made spray booth, fans, fixed chain block good luck mate, sounds like a "mans shed" project, you should get plenty of volunteers with skills and nothing but time on their hands
  5. Torque wrenches in inexperienced hands cause problems Were the nuts slacked off before retorqueing Were the nuts lubricated also Loktite Correct sequence of tightening nots/bolts Head hot or cold Correct figures also Nm or lbft Case of "if it aint broke don't f*** with it"
  6. Do the CASA restrictions only apply to Jabiru or to CAMIT as well. CAMIT are saying Their engine incorporates the latest designs to prevent the previous failures with the Jabiru engine Both manufacturers make the 2200 and 3300 engines I ask this as there seems to a lot of confusion in the market and in the info put out by both manufacturers
  7. Hi guys, I'm also on Hot Copper a shares site with lots of various forums. The forums tend to get high jacked by the climate/religious/anti muslim/europe migration/carey packer/political, Just a comment. Anyone can join HC maybe have a look before opening up your great site to the non-aviators? Regards
  8. I cancelled this comment on bearings, crank shaft bearings provide better impact and greater surface and needle bearings would need to be split
  9. just out of interest, why wouldn't they improve the engine by fitting needle bearings instead of sleeve
  10. FOLDING WING OPTION for the STOL CH 701 The folding wings option (FWO) allows the STOL CH 701’s wings to be folded back alongside the rear fuselage, providing added convenience for storing or towing the aircraft. To fold the wings, the four wing bolts must first be removed, and then the wing is turned upward 90 and folded back alongside the fuselage, pivoting on the folding wing ‘universal hinge’ attachment. The folding wing option does not change the wings’ attachment points, and thus does not weaken structural attachment points. Approx. 88" wide (gear), 103" tall (tail), 245" long one option
