  1. My Cel fi runs best on 3G,I had coverage 99% of the drive from Tamworth to coast. When my phone died new one couldn’t use 3G, signal now poop. New Cel fi is $1400 for 5G model only 18 months after buying last one.

1st one when into my shack and went from no signal to internet on 4 or more devices at same time, it too will be obsolete when signal turned off.

makes you sceptical why they can’t just be reprogrammed or reconditioned to work on new signal.

  2. If they find it is, do they leave it there as a grave like ww2 planes, or try to recover it. I watched a video on History today where they found a us jet that went off a carrier of the Florida coast in the 60s. The cockpit had no visible remains, but the parachute survived. One sailor has come up with footage from the day on a usb now. It clearly shows the damage as it happened, one of the crew’s helmets can be seen in the busted cockpit. His son’s were shown the wreckage and the footage to try and help bring closure.

It was a ramjet (and turbojet) powered interceptor, the pilot sits inside the engine's inlet cone. A truly insane concept from the French that looks like a piece of science fiction

    Reminds me of “Thunderbirds go”

It's the price of 2 slightly better than average HOUSES, just to put it in context. Like many I would just love it IF there was no problem with what we are doing to the climate.  Nev

In more remote places that could be 20 plus houses. I know roads cost a lot to upkeep, but how practical is a machine such as this. I still doubt they could handle storms and bad conditions any better than conventional helos and fixed wing aircraft.

  5. Hi OME

have you solved the DAME thing yet, I only just read forum on this.
if you have trouble with finding one, Dr Kannerman in Tamworth at Northwest health is good, I was and again are a bit heavy on MTOW, he sent me for a simple test and had no worries about sleep apnoea. I answered questions about falling asleep honestly and it got me a few tests. It seems that working 16 hour days, then falling asleep watching tv in the chair to wind down is a sign of a sleep disorder, not just tired. Doesn’t pay to be truthful on those forms.

    cheers

Being very aware of my own fallibility, I find it reassuring to go through the check list, item by item.

In creating the check list, I considered myself first but have also assumed others may, at times, fly my aircraft  so have information for those pilots as well.

I have laminated each section, punched a hole through the laminates and attached them all together, in order, with a key ring loop, so they can be easily "flipped".

My check list starts with the "normal" items from Pre-flight right through to post flight Shutdown, that all pilots will be familiar with but specific to my unique aircraft.  One item of this section "Brief Passenger" requires a flip almost to the back of my laminates, where I have a set of words for my occasional passengers. I also have an emergency list (in red). A list of engine performance parameters, capacities, fuel flow at nominated rpm/MAP settings , and helpful items like tyre pressures, etc

I had a mini version laminated in the 182, tucked into the bracket of the VHF just in front of door, every time I hopped in, list out, check, flip page. Trying to do from memory and little things get missed, might just be the beginning of hole in cheese lining up.

I don’t think it made me a lesser pilot by using it, I had the landing checks on dash, my local airport diagram on sun visor back and radio frees of all local CTAFS next to radio.

Read the fine print... enter C word where required...

what ever "is not" included within policy wording or PDS is covered and contestable against the underwriter in court or by the ombudsman or both.... but they will first claim insured did not inform insurer in writing at time of policy application... remember the "quality assurance and training purposes" statement on every phone call? 😀👍👍

All life insurance policies are null and void since covid vaccine rollout. Read the fine print regarding "medical trial participation".

Enter C word again as required. 😊

I had a fight with workers comp over those phone call recordings, I was given help to fill in the forms by their staff over the phone. I gave them times and dates, told them they have the recordings to verify my side of things-oh sorry we can’t find them or don’t have them. If I broke their rules or they had to pay out, I believe they would be found. $8900 dollars later on top of already paid polices - I hat them with a vengeance.

  8. That’s one of the reasons I gave in and sold my 182, it was a big single seater with a thirst for Avgas, I loved taking people flying. My kids got demanding jobs, friends always had something on during weekends.

the few I took loved it and it gives you a sense of pride to conduct a flight well with someone to witness it.

  9. I was annoyed with the news stripvacross the screens this morning, it had something like” light plane plummets 1500 feet after engine failure”

planes do not plummet after an engine failure, maybe catastrophic failure. This bad reporting scares the shit of of families and friends of pilots, the public perception of us all. there should be some sort of standard these journalists have to use in reporting stories.

  10. First buyer took mine, I think I underpriced it a bit, I had a line up of people waiting for the deal to fall through.

even though it was old, everything had been redone except paint and plastics. I figured they didn’t make it fly better and I was always interested on what was outside not in.
