    Autopilot

Hi from a Savannah noobie I have recently joined as a Savannah owner and read many of the topics on this forum. There were some comments on autopilots and the non appearance of the Trutrak ECO system which was a trim/servo tab design rather than servo motors directly connected to the primary flight surfaces. Some of the folk involved with the ECO system have teamed up with Levil and this is the result. https://aircraftautomation.com the ease of installation may be attractive to some Savannah owners... comments welcome Kevin
  3. Taken 30th May flying down the East Coast of the South Island at 6,000 ft. The Kaikoura ranges have their first dusting of snow. Taken with a blackberry phone camera, so not best quality. Aircraft Dynamic WT9 ZK-EWW Kevin
  4. I use "signwriters" plastic tape on my composite aircraft. I cruise at 130knots and it sticks like the proverbial. Clean up is easy when removing with meths or similar. The tapes can be ordered in various colurs and widths. Check it out with the local sign shop.
  5. Hi, I am planning to use my Garmin296 in Australia whilst visiting from NZ. If anyone has converted the Australian VRP's and ALA's to Mapsource or GPX format and is willing to share, it would be much appreciated. Conversely anyone visiting NZ is welcome to have my files of all the NZ VRP's thanks Kevin
  6. hi, again, thanks for the reply........ I may have neglected to add that i want to fly non stop...sorry
  7. Logan Hi, Many thanks for the reply. I know Logan and will certainly call upon his experience. Coolangatta would be a good destination, but the congested area overflight might be a problem. I was hoping someone who had flown in there could suggest a route , e.g follow the river, which would permit a legal arrival. Coffs is good but without a permanent customs/immigration/MAF attendance. I was trying to get an idea of which east coast airports would be suitable as a destination. rgds
  8. I am hoping to fly my NZ microlight (ZK registered) across the Tasman this coming summer. The first port of entry, ideally would have customs, immigration and MAF facilities. Also the restriction concerning "flight over congested areas" potentially rules out some fields ie.Coolangatta. i would be interested to learn of anyone's first hand experience flying into east Coast airports in a microlight or RA aircraft. cheers
  9. hi Mike, yes, Bruce is still the agent. His demo aircraft is also in Slovakia getting a new set of wings, whilst he and Rae are crew for his son Ross, currently representing NZ at the World gliding championships in germany. Dont know shepparton very well, but used to fly from Lilydale a lot and also to Col Campbell strip at lakes entrance. this was purchased a while back by my ex-business partner and has been lenghtened sealed and huge hangars installed for his toys. NZKK now has 6 flights a day from AKL rgds
  10. hi phil, i have a hangar at NZKK and fly from there. my plane (ZK-EWW) is currently at the manuafacturer in slovakia getting the new generation wings fitted and should be back in NZ late october or early november.
  11. Hi, just landed and am flying a dynamic WT9 in the bay of islands, Northland New Zealand. Kevin
