Yes but they only balance at set revs so balance for cruise or full throttle and either will not be in balance at either revs.I'm definitely keen to do a balance hence why I was hoping someone may have come accross a balancer perhaps more affordable than the ones I listed... $1800 for the Smart avionics one is the cheapest one I've found... plus add on the import duties lets call it $2k .... -
Hi, I found during a carb synchronization that adjusting the idle mixture screws to the factory specs made my engine run a bit cooler. If you fly high maybe checking the idle mixture screws will sort it out. How to do this is shown on the rotax site under carb synchronization.

Hi Hasse, The spring has held its shape for over 12 months so far. I don't think that the metal is soft you just reset it back into the unrested shape..

1Phils as far as I know.

Hi Hasse, I bent my main spring in the middle with a press and took it over centre until the axels are slightly pointing down so when the plane is sitting on the wheels they are sitting straight up and down not splayed out.

Hi Kyle,This must be a new one. My Sav kit had a panel but I didnt use it. It didnt look like that it just mounted to the floor. I made a totally different main panel for mine and most of us use the 2.25 inch radios in the panel. I have USB and 12V in the main dash. I am a big guy 6 ft 3 inch and 230 lbs in you your measurements and the more foot and leg room the better. I have also made twin sticks for mine and it is sooooo much better now for comfort on long tripsAnother NEW Savannah XL on its wayI tried to find the Sav club on facebook but I cant find it.
Is there a specific name for it?

Hi Lyndon, Do you know the model or id for the Balwin filter that fite a rotax 100uls please? Phil.I'm sure it would. Specs are specs. That filter fits a Rotax a Briggs and Stratton and a Kawasaki and about one hundred more engines. I'm not using a Briggs and Stratton filter. But a balwin filter that fits a Briggs and Stratton. It's not from repco but from one of the biggest filter suppliers in Australia . -
Thanks for the reply. I will see what I can find was thinking of an old motorcycle carby float and cutting it down.

Hi Lyndon,Filter issues. Bugger me my cheap filter was to long for fitting the exhaust. So I found a Short one off a Briggs and Stratton engine.I had a leaking oil seal on my rotax uls 100 hp 0il filter housing and used a brigs and stratton oil filter to get home, worked ok and changed back to a rotax filter when I got home.
Worked for me.

Hi jaba-who,Have no idea what the set up in your aircraft but the system I have in my jabiru consists of a contact float switch and a simple open/close circuit connected to the Dynon on one of the general contact switches. The switch is located about two thirds or so up the vertical height of the header tank. When the fuel level is above the switch the floating half lifts up and is closed and the contact circuit reads tank "Full" on the Dynon. (OK its not quite full but close enough) when the fuel level drops below the switch the floating end drops away and the Dynon reads "Tank Low".Pretty simple.
I must admit I believe almost diametrically opposite to Facthunter. The sight tubes in the jab are particularly unreliable. The jabiru ones are quite wide bore and they slosh around all over the place. This is especially a problem in turbulence and if you aren't flying properly coordinated.
I filled in the holes with epoxy when I built it and drilled out tiny ( 1/64th) holes for the fuel to dribble slowly in and out of the tubes. So it changes much more slowly.
Next the fuel level is often hard or impossible to see when the tanks are more than about 80% full so I made some coloured float balls.
Lastly I have never had the float switch give a false reading either false low or false full.
But that's just my experience.
I have a sav and I was thinking of putting some floating balls in my fuel level sight tubes for easier fuel level sighting but could not find any to use. Do you know where I can get some from please?
