  1. Hi there Mike Jim from Bunbury WA here. I too fly an 912XT but the Tundra with Streak3 wing. Like you I have been flying approx 2 years and had my Pilot Certificate for nearly a year. We have just had the best weekend in many months for trike flying. What a joy to spend several hours touring around. What a shame that work interferes. I was in Gippsland in November, would have been good to catch up. Would be great to fly over your way for change of scenery etc. Maybe one day. Take care and continue to enjoy. JIM
  2. HI David. Luckily I have the peel and stick numbers. Stitched ones sound a real pain. Sounds like good advice from Ozzie to use a small steamer and I think I will give that a go. Will report back on the success or otherwise but it will have to wait a week or so. Am off to Melbourne tomorrow for few days R & R. Thanks again to all.
  3. Hi David. Luckily my numbers are the peel and stick type. Ozzie's idea of using a small steam cleaner sounds good. I will give that a go and post the results once done - good or bad - hopefully good of course. Thanks again for your responses. JIM
  4. Thanks to all for your responses. Decision to change from HGFA to RAA was a club decision. Too late to apply for 32-6160 as already have the new numbers and registration certificate. Wish I had thought of it though. Thanks Crezzi for the advice on how. I will give it a go and report back on the success or otherwise. Just want to get it done and get back in the air - if this wind ever dies down. Regards to all my fellow aviators. JIM
  5. Hi cficare. Unfortunately not. HGFA No is T2-6160. New RAA No is 32-7672.
  6. Greetings all. Jim from Bunbury WA here. I have a trke and am in process of changing registration from HGFA to RAA which means I have to replace the wing regn numbers. Does anyone one know of a simply way of removing the existing wing numbers without damaging the wing. Any advice would be much appreciated. Regards JIM
  7. Hey Manfred. Always good to see another Trike Pilot on the Forum. I fly an XT912 out of Bunbury in WA. Oh what a feeling.
  8. WOW talk about using up all the runway. Great viewing and commentary. Thanks Seb. JIM.
  9. Hi Guys. Jim from Bunbury in WA here. Have not been on the Forums for some time. After 18 months I have finally got my Pilot Certificate and PAX endorsement. Certainly took longer than I thought due mainly to weather restrictions. But Oh What a Feeling. Last weekend I took my most important passenger for a flight - The Wife. She loved it as I knew she would. Kind of sanctions the cost of plane, lessons and time. Now have a growing list of family and friends all wanting a flight. Cant wait to give them the experience of a lifetime. One at a time of course. Shame work interferes with flying time. Will now keep regular contact with Forum and look forward to sharing stories etc. Happy flying one and all. Jim and The Balck Beast ( XT912 )
  10. Hi Scott I started my licence in December 08 and like you I too bit the bullet and bought a brand new XT912 Tundra. I opted for the Streak 3 wing and also the extended windshield and took delivery in February. Seems that since then good weather is a real treat. So far I have clocked up 28 hrs and about to go solo. My training is with Brendan Watts at SW Microlight School in Bunbury WA. It brings to reallity a dream I have had for many years to fly. Had no idea a two hour flying lesson would take all day - time seems to race away doing pre flights, briefings and chats with other pilots. Shame the weather this weekend is one again not so good. One thing we learn as a trike pilot is patience. Take care and fly safe and enjoy that 912. JIM
  11. HI there Mike and welcome You have made a good choice to try the microlight. I am a traineee microlight pilot and have bought an Airborne XT912 Tundra. My wife has had her first flight this weekend just gone and loved it as indeed I do and more so now that I know that she will fly with me when I get the licence and endorsements etc. Have you commenced your training yet. One lesson and you are hooked. Look forward to hearing of your progress. regards JIM
  12. Hi there Kiwilad Great to hear from another Trike student. I am learning in Bunbury WA - 13 hrs so far and have just taken delivery of my Airborne 912. Loving every minute of it as I am sure you will also. Hope you keep it up and look forward to hearing how your training is going. Fly safe. Regards, JIM
  13. Go for it I say. I recently commenced Certificate Training in Bunbury 13 hrs and loving it. The more you do the more you want to do - if that's addiction then I am addicted already. Enjoy every minute of it. Regards, JIM

    Hi

Hang in there Hi Scott Have just read your thread. Like you I have had an interest in flying for many years. Started on my GA back in 2000 stopped just short of solo for a bit of a holiday and came back to a redundancy package and no job so flying was put on hold. Desire was rekindled late last year and am now working on my RA Certificate in a trike and have just taken delivery of a new Airborne 912 Tundra. Still putting it together with my instructor, then it has to be test flown and then the moment I am waiting for, my first flight in my own plane. Great that you have the support of her indoors. Cant help you with those ortho costs. Been there and done that 2 kids plus the bride - I am sure I paid for his new roller. . Good luck and hope you get in the air in the not too distant future. Cheers JIM
  16. HI everyone. My name is Jim from Bunbury in Western Australia. Soon I will be starting lessons for my Microlight Licence. I am looking at the pro's and con's of buying a new versus 2nd hand microlight and would appreciate any advice that can be given. I am finding it hard to find any late model 2nd hand machines and am looking at perhaps a new Airborne 582 Tundra. Looking forwad to your comments.
