Light plane makes emergency landing on WA road
carrod01 replied to Happyflyer's topic in Aircraft Incidents and Accidents
Let's celebrate a good result. Well done to the pilot, nice to see a great outcome rather than the tragedy of body bags, trauma and longer road closures. -
Plenty of aviation history and sights to see in Darwin and environs Bones. Many of the early pioneering flights had to stop in here for their island-hopping adventures so there's all types of plaques and displays scattered about. We live on a curved road which was originally a taxiway for the Parap runway in WW2. Great for aviation buffs to enjoy and for those like me who just like discovering a bit of local history. Nice time of the year to get around. Enjoy!

Very cool Xavier.....have to work on the product name tho'.....body bag aligns you with Dexter, Christal sounds like something you might purchase in an X-rated shop. Cheers Des

Hi Kev, Nice to see the Hornet on the move again. Thought it was you on the radio. Cheers, D & J

Man Attempts To Fly With Zero Flight Experience!

No brainer.......won't use the F**E word..... care of Donald T.....but it's a set-up. Apart from dutchrolls' analysis also noticed a guy in the foreground ignoring the action for far too long. How about a stuntman's audition tape! -
Jealous as all hell Kev........but be joining you soon. Cheers, Des

First landing was rough, but this is fun...

Welcome PDD. Reckon Boonah will work a treat. Flew with Dave late last year and loved the P2008 so much we are in the midst of purchasing one. Dave was great so we will be doing our navs with him, something we are really looking forward to. Cheers Des -
Thanks for the video and promoting the discussion Nico. As a low hours pilot, I find these sort of discussions and video extremely valuable. I thought you did well! Cheers, Des

It's the last photo that did it! We can fry eggs on a car bonnet and your plane is sitting out the middle of nowhere by itself in a blizzard of white cold. I feel cold just looking at it. Thanks for the great photos Vlad. Cheers Des

Too funny Kev. Better watch out the wallabies don't get any ideas about joyrides! Cheers, Des

Welcome Ausspark. You'll be in for a great journey! My wife and I learnt together. Same airstrip, same times, different instructors and different aircraft (Tecnam and Jabiru). Chased each other around the circuits many a time. Great for debriefs over a glass or two.

Welcome Capillatus. Thanks for the video, a sight as alien to most Australians as the red desert would be to you. Cheers, Des
-
Cheers Frank. Kev is always threatening me with a run in his yellow Drifter so i me be converted to the tube and rag yet!

Hi Tony. Thanks for the encouragement. Wife learnt in an Eaglet, me in a Jabiru......lots of friendly debate there! Cheers, Des

Thanks Mick. Friendly lot up here so you should not have any difficulties tapping in for local knowledge. Cheers, Des
