    Hi Mark:

    I just bought a SE2 and applied for the rebate. But I'm not sure what to do with it now. I already have a Mode S transponder coded with an official code. I really only bought the SE2 for the ADSB in feature.

    I heard that you can't have two ADSB devices transmitting from one aircraft, but I read on the ADSB grant thread that someone programmed their SE2 with their nickname. If I did that and it was transmitting, I'd have two transmissions going but with different IDs. Is that illegal?

    Also, if my transponder is transmitting, will the SE2 pick that up? Ibelieve the SE2 can be set to receive only and just used as ADSB in. Are there other apps beside OzRunway that can interact with the SE2?

      Hi Scott

       

      You would only use the SE2 as a ADSB in source so just turn off the transmit side of it. You should not have 2 devices transmitting from the same aircraft on the same fequency

       

      Avplan works with it fine. You need the premium Ozrunways version to use the SE2 but Avplan standard it shows it so its a bit cheaper

      The que is getting longer. Production versions will still be some weeks away yet as we want to make sure its all correct also CNC wait times are a issue as well.

    Hi there Kyle, now based SEQLD and just buying a SavVG (I’ve owned a VG and a 701 previously). I’ve noticed that you’ve completed a twin stick mod. That’s a feature I’d have liked in both my previous aircraft so wondered if you’ve got drawings/details that you’d care to share?  Cheers.

      The ones I have fitted are the factory ones but I dont use electric flaps. ICP say you cant have twin sticks without electric flaps but that is BS. I converted my VGXL and I am finishing rebuilding a wrecked S model now and am fitting a set to it as well. You are welcome to come and see how its done. I am about to paint everything in the next week or two on this one. There is a couple of things to know about but its pretty easy to do. The original factory twin sticks for the VG and classic were very ordinary but the later versions are quite good. All bearings fitted etc
