Thanks Ian. I had a feeling it was due to a combining of pilot supplies and other items. As others have said, it might be better to change the "Female pilots" tab to "Female items" or similar, and add a "Male items" tab. But in this day and age I don't think we need to separate the sexes; just group by categories instead (sorry, it's the ex-librarian in me coming out). :-)Robyn, what the others have said is true, it is the remnants of a previous wider audience target than just pilot supplies. In fact under that tab tyere is not just beauty products but also clothing, and much much more. In fact in the clearance tab there are plumbing supplies, household goods etc. Previously pilot supplies was just one tab with many sub categories, now it is many more tabs and the other non pilot supplies is just one tab with sub categories and a clearance tabNow that I am back home after 8 months working in Canberra I will be redoing the Clear Prop shop and in the coming days will be clearing as much of the non pilot supplies out at cost in a fire sale. You may also like to note that my wife is a Beauty Therapist and her beauty therapy web site links to the shop as well.
The shop products was also meant to provide an opportunity to buy discounted gifts for the other half as well irrespective of what sex they are.
BTW, I tried to edit my earlier post but couldn't, to add that the Clear Prop site is great and the prices are excellent, so keep up the great work in that regard.

Hi all. I was browsing through the online store (http://Http://www.clearprop.com.au) and I noticed a separate tab for "Female pilots". I was intrigued hoping to find gifts or cool stuff specifically for women who fly, but what I found was mainly makeup and beauty products! I was more than a little offended - it made me feel like the only thing female pilots are good for is to look "pretty". (I hear you snickering and you should be ashamed!)
I then looked at the other pages and saw under the "Pilot" tab is generic flying stuff (like flight bags and safety equipment) as well as men's products (like men's clothes and shavers). So does this mean "female pilots" are different to so-called "pilots" and they (we) don't need all that other serious flying stuff? If I had known that I would have worn a lot more makeup and skimpier clothes when I went for my flying tests!
But seriously, are we still living in the 1960's??? What do others think? I'm hoping there's a perfectly reasonable explanation but I can't think of one at the moment. <sigh>
PS. I sent an email to the site voicing my concerns but haven't heard anything back yet.

So sad. And so long for his family to have to wait for the news. Thoughts are with family and friends.

Just got back yesterday from a 2 week holiday where we flew down to Warrnambool via Narromine to visit relatives, then caught a train to Melbourne to do some sightseeing and to check out the Avalon Airshow. We were hoping to fly back via the coast but the weather wasn't suitable, so we returned via Narromine again. Had an awesome time.
If you missed the Airshow, here's some highlights.

Hi Bob. Both fixed cameras were Drift's. One is an older HD170 and the other is a newer Ghost. Both have remote controls so I was kept busy turning both cameras on and off when there was something good to see, as well as using a handheld occasionally, as well as navigating. I wouldn't say it was a very relaxing trip. :-)Well done Robyn , we plan to get there next year . What was the fixed camera by the way ?BobNext time I'm just going to let the cameras record and hope they don't run out of space.

Bob (@RetiredRacer ) and I were disappointed we couldn't make it in our RV9A. I had to stay home to finish Bob's tax (what fun!), and Bob drove all the way to the hangar on Saturday night (75 mins) only to be fogged in next morning till 10:30am. He had to be back home by lunch so had to abandon the plan. Oh well. I'm sure we'll catch up with everyone at the Watts Bridge fly-in at the end of the month. [shameless plug] :-)

Thanks everyone.
Sounds good. We'll see if we can get there. We haven't slept under the wing yet.So, we'll see you at the Clifton fly-in then? -
:celebrate:I FINALLY got my RA licence today, including my cross country endorsement. It's been a long and frustrating process but worth the effort in the end.
Thanks to Kev Walters and Jim Gollagher for the awesome training. And of course my husband Bob, who helped motivate me when the times got tough.
Now I can hopefully start to have some fun.

Hi all. After being forced to hold off on my flying lessons (my last one was in September last year) I am now back on track to getting my RAA licence. Here's a video of my first solo in our RV9A at Bradfield (near Atkinson's Dam in QLD), followed by a couple more solo circuits at Watts Bridge (near Toogoolawah in QLD). I hope it inspires others who get stuck in their training to keep at it and be patient, as eventually the planets do line up.
PS. Thanks to Bob, Jim and Kev for your help so far.

I feel your pain. I had to wait 9 months for my next lesson when I only had about 2 lessons left to do for various reasons. Started my lessons again last weekend. I finally did my first solo in our RV yesterday and all that past frustration has been forgotten. Just do your preparations and then distract yourself with other things until the planets align. Good luck with it all.I can not catch a break... got there an hour early, even went to the shop to replace all my expired nav stuff, went out and did a thorough preflight, perfect radio calls and taxi, damn respectable short field takeoff - and............. IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VERY FIRST CIRCUIT......... it starts raining.
