I learned to fly in the early 70's. I rebuilt an Aeronca 11-AC Chief with my father when I was in high school and then he taught me to fly in it. Dad flew B-17H in WWII. I had to sell the airplane to go to college and then got married so away from flying for a number of years. In the early 90's my father and I partnered on a '46 Cub which he and I flew until he passed in '06 and I continued to fly up until two years ago when I traded it for a flying RV-12. Good trade...
I hang out mainly over in VAF forum for RV-12. The 12 is a beautiful airplane. I have over 1200 hours in the CUB and settled into the 12 like we've been friends forever. I bought the 12 with 48TT and now have over 300TT. Last year I took 16-hour course to allow annual condition inspection on my own ELSA. Doesn't get much better...
