  1. I just fly a powered parachute my airfield use to be the now site of the new Sydney airport site at Badgerys Creek , so was flying locally around at about 1000ft this day nil wind clear sky, the locals were bought out and the homes demolished , so this area that I am not familiar with all I normally stay clear not to disturb the neighbor was just open land with scattered trees I flew down just below tree top and flying between them .My Aerochute speed is constant at about 50km/hr nice and slow well flying along I noticed power lines ahead of me on the main road further over as I got closer I realized other power lines were directly in front of me about the same level as the main road power lines and heading strait for them ,no where to turn trees either side of me,to late to land I went to full power and climbed just passing over by about a meter,if I had a passenger I would have flown into the power lines . I dont fly that low and will not go below the tree lines unless taking off or landing, that day was a lesson learnt ,I have the Video check it out -
  2. The new International Airport at Badgerys Creek supposedly will be operational in 2026 and No RAA aircraft will be flying in the Sydney Basin then , maybe try at Wilton with the sky divers (meat bombs) , I heard that they are moving their operation to Jaspers Brush Airfield in the near future . Good luck and if you find an airfield close by near Sydney let me know because it will affect me to .
  3. I do a lot of driving a year and find that the seat belts become uncomfortable with the constant retracting pressure , what I do is pull the seat belt enough to take the pressure off but not to loose and where it retracts back in the car I use a clothe peg on the seat belt to stop it retracting back it works for me
  4. I was at the Air Show yesterday and seen some great flying by Mat Hall , his aerobatics was fantastic with his routine and Paul Bennett with his routine and I didnt realize that a plane could be thrown around like that and still fly , but my favorite is the Caribou with lots of great vintage aircraft flying around , I have to say that the Illawarra Air Show gets better every year and next year I will be going on both days so I spend more time looking around at all the static displays too one day is just not enough
  5. I am going again for the 2nd time the last time was just a general day pass this time family bought me a Gold Pass for just Saturday , looking forward to it . Mark
  6. I just joined this Site a lot of interesting information , I am flying an Aerochute and loving it , I am a late starter in flying at the age 49 I started to learn to fly a Flexiwing microlight after acquiring my pilot cert I bought a Nanolight had that for a few years then to a Redback Airborne Microlight for another 4 years and decided to get something more to suit my lifestyle and went for a Aerochute and flying it still now , easy to transport easy to set up an takes a passenger I go bush often and it always comes with me on the back of my ute.
