  1. Awesome flight Do you require any special permission to access Teewah airfield
  2. It is bit like old cliché of trying to define sexual content as either art form or pornographic, you are not sure about the level of exposure but you know it when you see it. Some good info there djpacro
  3. Hi kasper, would that be Mark Georges 503 Drifter your are talking about? I learnt Drifter flying in that one in 1998/99 and was responsible for my Drifter addiction The middle patch you are talking about is a tribute to the triple bouncer landings of most students over the years and so far grass has never been able to catch up with student pilot hammering btw guys it was a nice clear day with 5k+ vis and below 3000ft clear of clouds with some gentle turns happy flying for all 2015
  4. Driftering around, first flight of 2015
  5. Godfather to all Drifter pilots he was only a phone call away for offering all his material and technical help/support and words of wisdom to all those who needed it. Had the pleasure of listening to some of his engine failure stories told as routine landings (He estimated his engine outs between 60-70) when he stayed overnight whilst delivering my Drifter from lismore to sydney. A true legend he was, this is a tremendous loss for flying fraternity and he will be sorely missed.
  6. I will second Ray’s opinion about Mcgiuver. He is a top instructor and uses new 912 powered trikes for training. I got my ticket(weightshift) from him last year
  7. Going by the anecdotal evidence of reported crashes trikes do seems to have higher fatality rate but it will be interesting to find out the actual survival statistics in this regard( of both HGFA and RAAUS)
  8. Tiger woods top 10 One: Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. Now he has a hole in one. Two: What's the difference between a car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards. Three: Tiger Woods wasn't seriously injured in the crash, but he's still below par. Four: What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2.30 in the morning? They went clubbing Five: Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. He couldn't decide between a wood and an iron. Six: Perhaps Tiger should be using a driver? Seven: This is the first time Tiger's ever failed to drive 300 yards Eight: Apparently, Tiger admitted this crash was the closest shave he's ever had. So Gillette has dropped his contract. Nine: After a wayward drive, Tiger Woods found water before nestling behind a tree Ten: Apparently, the only person who can beat Tiger Woods with a golf club is his wife What does Tiger Woods & Baby Seals have in common ? A: They both get clubbed by Norwegians..
  9. why flying is tons of fun Its like asking a man to explain why having sex with a woman is fun. one can try to come up with various explanations but not truly capturing the wholesome experience. It just feels so damn good
  10. In that video Wayne is flying VH-VSI Fisher Sport registered as GA experimental to facilitate the legalities of performing aerobatics, he himself is fully endorsed on aerobatics etc. hope this helps clarify the situation
  11. just came across this design concept photos from the net. interesting design, might fire some intrepid builder's imagination...
  12. chaser single seat trike English Watch Now!
  13. I hav,nt had any fungas issues with 303 for last 6 years of its use. I wash the aircraft, dry it then apply 303 wiping it with a cloth and leave it out in the sun to dry for few hours. may be the hangar I am using is not conducive enough for fungas (its well aerated-no doors)
  14. 303 uv spray 303 is another good uv spray which does'nt seem to attract any dust but have to be applied every 6 months to keeep it effective. 1 leter will give you two coats on a drifter. also does'nt add much weight to the aircraft either
  15. good old 190, never missed a beat for 6 yrs I had it, "Norto" in Qld has bought it for cattle mustering. was great fun for my first drifter but now its memories are fading fast with arrival of its younger and sexier and hotter version-Fisher MK1 Sport ;)
  16. I have got an old video of the three men interviewed togather (Rogallo, John Dickenson & Bill Moyes) Rogallo laid the theory, John was first to build hang glider type kites which flew by getting towed with a rope and Bill Moyes was the first one to free fly it. very few people even in hang gliding community know about the contribution of john dickenson.
  17. good old 759-this drifter used to be at the oaks airfield many years ago. had few hours in it but it flew like a real pig (might have had something to do with loose skins in the control surfaces at the time)
  18. the altimeter should be set at area QNH or dial the elevation of the field you are flying from into the altimeter as part of pre take off checks. any other settings will bring you in conflict with other traffic using correct settings
  19. that plane looks so similar to mine, even the regos are close (3913 &3914). for a moment I thought that was photo of my aircraft. must have been a genetic clone VC ;)
  20. Fisher Sport photos one flying over southwest of sydney and the other two taken at the oaks airfield
  21. dont know about 582 but I have to regularly clean filters on my 503 rotax due to similar drip through the filters. I dont have oil injection and use premix but still it does'nt stop oil seeping through filters. its more of a nuisance then problem though
  22. as Frank has pointed out its an individual choice based on personal preferences, but if I was forced to choose between the two having flown both i would go for the Drifter without a doubt. you can literally force your way through any challenging conditions in a drifter whereas one needs a bit of raw muscle power combined with quick reflexes to do it in a trike. having said that trikes are a great fun machines in suitable conditions and may not need hangrage as well- fold the wing and store in your garage. this choice is a difficult one as both have different flying qualities, more like comparing a sports car with a motorbike. it will be tough convincing a bykie of the merits of a sports car and vice-versa. may be have a go at both and then decide
