  1. Situated half way between Sydney and Melbourne, just off the Hume Highway, Holbrook Airpark is widely regarded as the best little airfield in Southern NSW. Set on 1286sqm of land, this unique freehold property for sale has a modern 2 bedroom house adjoining a 18m x 15m hangar with office and mezzanine floor, accessed by sealed taxiways, plus open-ended carport/breeze way. Other services include: water tanks and bore, 5kW solar system, gas hot water and heating, ducted cooling throughout, separate lock up utility shed, garden shed and integrated watering system. Holbrook Airpark is on a fully maintained council-owned airfield, with no landing or usage fees, with tightly-held properties and few residences. With a main runway of 950m and a cross-runway of 715m, it's close to Canberra, the high-country, wineries and offers some of the most majestic and enjoyable recreational flying west of the Great Dividing Range. Unfortunately in part due to my hours reducing at work, I'm needing to sell my current hangar at Temora. Ideally I'll be building a larger one there in the not too distant future, but right now, I can't justify two mortgages. It's at 33 Tigermoth Ave, and has power, water, sewerage, gas and the NBN available (with FTTN apparently), though I use 4G in the hangar and it's more than quick enough. As it's the second-to-last block on the street, there's no through traffic, and the owner next door has yet to build so there are uninterrupted views across the entire northern side of the airfield. Even better, as there's nothing but aircraft parking across the road, you can watch the sun set with a cold beer every evening. The block itself is 25 x 50m, with the hangar being 15 x 15 x 6m high, with a door opening of 10 x 4m that should fit most sport planes upto and including the RV-10! The doors are bi-fold and inward hinged, with the top half of each door being dark-tinted laserlite sheet, with 4 runs of laserlite in the roof as well - No more bumping into wingtips in a dark hangar. Rates are around $170 / quarter, though council is planning on introducing an annual residents levy at some point in the future, believed to be an additional $400pa. EDIT: Got this years bill last month and paid it 12/8, so that has been paid through until this time next year. And it was an additional $400, so total rates are around $1100/yr As I do 24/7 shiftwork, for any questions or queries, please flick me a message here, or via email to KRviators 'at' bigpond.com and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Much better without having to pull the RV-9 across the grass... There are worse places to watch the sun go down. The view from the front yard...Click HERE for the original - but be warned, it is a 50Mb image file...
