(minus props/engines/avionics/instruments). Surely some budding inventor out there could do a "flight of the Phoenix" job on this? Use the outer wing panels, wheels/brakes and tail surfaces, bolt them on a home made fuselage and off you go!

Guest Howard Hughes
It's gotta be worth more than that for scrap!
Marty_d
According to the ad, seller could get $900 for scrap but prefers to sell it as an aircraft - good on them for that! Jeez even wheels, brakes, control cables etc would make it worth it - if you had the space to store it. Then sell the rest for scrap.

Guest Bigfella
With a bit of imagination it could be an awesome simulator!
Marty_d
My kids have something like that for a playhouse. I was thinking today that it'd make the world's best cubby house. Make your kids the most popular in the neighbourhood - that's gotta be worth $700!

Old Koreelah
Nuffing mhate !!................. What is it about that area and Bf-109s? Willy Andiel at Pt Macqarie built a couple of replica 109s, but was limited to using small 2-stroke engines. Willy told fascinating stories about the closing stages of the war, when ground crew were hard to find; having to handstart his Messerschmidt and take off on snow-covered runways. Their job was to engage the fighters and draw them away, so the 190s could get at the bombers.
Gibbo
The wing would make an awesome desk if you cleaned it up a touch. :)
Guest Maj Millard
There was bar in San Francisco that had a Jumbo jet leading edge as the bar......polished alum...and another overhead. Gibbo
http://www.motoart.com/ Love the spa bath.. Perfect addition to any pilots ego. ;) It's surprising what springs up when you do a google search for recycled aircraft furnture.
Guest Maj Millard
Also while living in San Francicso I attended a party at the home of a United Airlines engineer. United has a huge maintenance base just south of the city. At the top of a set of stairs leaning against the wall was a main landing gear oleo strut from a B747 !!.....can you imagine just how huge they are ??.....It had been rejected because of a small crack, great piece of furniture........Maj... Marty_d
Anyone see Kevin McCloud's "Man Made Home" series? He used a B737 cowling as a hot tub. Looked great. Wish we had an aircraft graveyard here that gave away parts!
