We get some that vaguely resemble "crop circles", for reasons I often cannot fathom. The circle crops are because of a centre pivot irrigation system (basically a big sprinkler that is fixed in the middle and drives around in a circle). What is your secret to removing the haze that invariably affects aerial photos to some degree? I use DXO Optics Pro to post-process mine and have developed some settings that minimise the effect of haze, but it is subject to introducing some other impairments under certain lighting and scene situations. Thanks for the compliment ! Haze is difficult to deal with. My camera is a Nikon D7000. I try to keep the focal length low to reduce the amount of air between myself and the subject. This of course means using a wide angle lens and getting close (100-400') to the subject. It's important to get a fast focusing camera and lens setup. Also important is keeping the shutter speed high, the ISO low, and the white balance accurate. Some days are simple clearer than others. I use Adobe Lightroom 3 for the little bit of post processing I do. My brother took this photo with my older Sony Alpha a100: 4 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Just clean the window up nicely, all the photos above of mine are taken inside an aircraft, except the Feedlot one which was from a Drifter. Hi David, I think you'll find the lines in the canola crops are irrigation channels, they follow the contours to keep them level. Not sure if they are the type to shift water from point a to point b or the type that flood irrigate the paddocks they pass through.
