An Irish Medical Emergency

2 Irishmen were staggering home from the pub along the road when a car accidentally struck Paddy who was on the wrong side of the road.

Jimmy his friend rushed into a nearby house & asked if he could use the phone to ring for an ambulance.

When Jimmy phoned the ambulance centre he was asked by the operator the address where the injured patient was located & Jimmy replied that it was directly outside the front of 29 Eucalyptus St .

The operator then asked Jimmy to spell Eucalyptus St, & for a minute or so there was silence, after which the operator again asked Jimmy to spell the name of the street where the injured person was located.

In response Paddy apologised for the delay in replying & told the operator that because he couldn't spell Eucalyptus St, he thought it best to drag Paddy around to 3 Oak St, spelt OAK where it would be easier for the ambulance to locate his injured friend.
