Warbirds at Festival of Flight @ Watts Bridge QLD

Recommended Posts

G'day All

Queensland Vintage Aeroplane Group recently held their annual Festival of Flight Fly-in over the weekend of August 29-30. It was pleasing to see the heavier warbird types make it to the event. With so much being documented about the global financial situation and the "domino effect" caused from such, it was going to be interesting to see how it was going to affect attendees this year. But it was one of the best events seen. And a fantastic gathering of not just warbird types but also Vintage and classic types as well. It shows how relatively healthy the warbird movement in Australia is at this time. I just love the old birds.

I have a few snippets from the event-

Surely it is! I'd be frightened to pull it out of the hangar, let alone start it up. Although, since it isn't powered by a Gypsy, I guess it wouldn't get that much oil on it....
