dlegg
Hi there Avocet, I'm keen to hear how the injected, liquid cooled head jab 3300 is performing. I think you could be on a winner there. What sort of prop and pitch etc?
AVOCET
Hi there Avocet, I'm keen to hear how the injected, liquid cooled head jab 3300 is performing. I think you could be on a winner there. What sort of prop and pitch etc? the LCH& the multipoint work exceptionally good combined with 62"x54" pitch prop. it's a much smoother running & idl.,a good temp. spread and a oil temp thermostat keeps the oil at 80 deg heads /water temp 95/100deg. works we'll on the pusher set up . cheers mike

AVOCET
Looks great, very inspiring, I might start with the SDS injection and go from there:chuffed: if you add the LCH to the SDS the extra current load with the water pump ect , ,7ampdraw, required a 30amp alt (on vac pump drive) .weight starts to creep up . cheers mike

AVOCET
That jab modified might do the job but it's starting to look like a Plumber's nightmare. Nev The plumbers nightmare (my nightmare by the way ) is being redesigned as we speak , T he Crome Molly mount will go all the way down to the roof ,and the turret cowls will screw off , making better access . another big mod !! you know , rod stiff told me , it never ends. !!! facthunter
With the water you should be able to arrange a nice cabin heater. You had to go LCH with a pusher. Nev
ron dunn
Hi there Mike. Good to hear from you. I am still flying my Jabiru powered VP1 at Port Augusta. Going OK but having a bit of trouble getting spares for the 1600 Jab engine. Would like to fit a 2.2 if I could get a a cheap run out unit suitable for a general rebuild. Would be a lot easier to maintain and perform better. must try and catch up with you one day. Cheers Ron Dunn Port Pirie.

It had 770 hours for $ 7000 ran it for 50 hrs then 0 hour ed it I was surprised , as well as jabiru at how good it was inside . X flying school Cost $1200 to rebuild at the factory . Plus the LCH Mike
ron dunn
Finances don't run to a 2.2 in any condition so have to plug away with the 1600. But I did ring Jabiru and spoke to rod Stiff. A bit of luck here as he has very kindly GIVEN me a complete 1600 that they exchanged for a 2.2 some years ago and sealed it up in a box so with any luck I will be able to make up another engine. At the very least I should have a source of parts for some time. and all for the cost of 148 dollars for freight. Cheers Ron 4

ron dunn
We had a lot of dealings with Jabaru when we ran several LSA aircraft in our school here at Port Pirie several years ago. Always got on well with Rod,Phil and Don plus their staff. That,s not to say we did not have a lot of trouble but keeping it on a friendly footing seems to have paid off a bit.
