jetjr
What about their oil additive? Its been recommended for jabs too, but rates are very high, like 25%
deadstick
Does anyone know when this new engine is going on sale?
Brett
I wouldn't be surprised if it never comes out and jab's suddenly start coming out with a UL power motor or something... I have no idea though but just a feeling.
planesmaker
There are a few more jabs with rotax engines now, heard of 2 more in the last few weeks, and another wanting to fit one to a j230. But still Jabiru refuse to consider the possibility and the success that could follow.
jetjr
"End of the year" was the last quote Right now there are no options so its likely other engines will become more popular. They really are pinning company on this new engine release and success. A approved 912 FWF conversion might save them in the training market but would kill off the 2210 I suspect. facthunter
Weight and cost were the reason they weren't used originally. Nothing's changed in that respect. Nev
jetjr
true but max MTOW under RAA has gone up and without other options customers have not much choice regards to price BUT unless Jabiru approve it, it cant be used in LSA (or Cert models) and therefore for training
facthunter
A heavier engine has to be counterbalanced by more weight at the opposite end. Mass at the extremes of the fuselage are not conducive to good handling. Spin characteristics etc. Nev
planesmaker
Rotax is the same wt as the 3300 or close enough. No ballast reqd. Good for j 230

geoffreywh
if the rotax is heavier shorten the nose or lighten the tail or both
billwoodmason
if the rotax is heavier shorten the nose or lighten the tail or both You do mean lengthen the tail don't you?( lightening the tail wouldn't help a heavy engine).
