shags_j
Hi All, Is anyone able to confirm for me that a) RA Aus still issues ASICS (I couldn't find the form on the website) b) You are allowed to have current ASIC's issued by two separate bodies. Cheers, Jason
dazza 38
Cant you use your work one ? Or isn't that allowed ?
shags_j
They refuse to issue Red asics to pilots anymore. There is a lengthy debate of avnet about it.
robinsm
The ASIC's application form is on the Raa Aus website, look under forms on the main page about half way down.
Geoff13
Yes RA Aus still issue them. Mine took about 5 weeks to go through.
rhysmcc
Security insist you are able to hold multiple ASICs, seems strange. Can you not find an operational reason for the Red? (Airport liason visits, famil flights?)
facthunter
I don't have one at the moment but mine was always issued through the RAAus. I think it was "access all areas". Many are confined to a specific location. Nev
ben87r
I renewed mine in Feb and, the CASA mob had the cheapest price.
Yenn
I get mine through Airport Security, I think that is what they are called. Cheaper than RAAus or CASA and not much hassle. Did t all on line.

robinsm
Raa Aus quoting $200, cheaper than Casa by 0.50c and $20 cheaper than airport one.
facthunter
Check they are all the same. RAAus application is all over Australia so it should be tailored to the applicant's situation. Nev
ben87r
Raa Aus quoting $200, cheaper than Casa by 0.50c Don't let me forget to repay the shout at the pub! ☺️ But I stand slightly corrected.

Nev Pilots receive Red "AUS" ASICS, which allow airside all over Australia, other staff get location specific (i.e. baggage handler would only get "SYD" if that's where they work). This is not based on who does the ASIC for you.
Yenn
I got my ASIC last Sept. At that time RAAus were offering ASICs for less money on their web site, but when I tried to organise one it seems their web site was way behind the times with it's pricing. One of the good things with securityid is the ease of completing the paperwarfare.
